Lessons I learned:
1. A pizza spot with plant based options doesn’t mean the staff are trained to care for people with dietary restrictions.
2. A pizza spot with plant based options needs someone that is allergen aware to make sure people with dietary restrictions are taken care of.
3. Staff may just bare minimally say ”oh sorry “ and ask you if “you want another one or..?” Instead of genuinely apologize for making a mistake that could cause harm to someone medically, especially because it was their mistake.
4. They tried and succeeded for a while but I’m calling it quits and not recommending to people with food restrictions from animal products.
However, I was disappointed with the food itself. I ordered two mini pizzas and a salad through the app, which was user-friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, for over $40, what I received didn’t match my order. The pizzas weren’t as expected dough was chewy, and the salad was particularly unsatisfying. The lettuce and veggies were old and soggy, lacking the crisp freshness one would anticipate.
Given the cost, I expected a better value. It felt disheartening to put in the extra effort to request a pizza that I could barely eat—honestly, I would have been better off ordering a Costco pizza.
In summary, while the service and app experience were commendable, the quality of the food fell short of expectations. I cannot recommend the MOD Pizza in Pinole based on this experience. Customers deserve better for the price.
