Went to Ernies for karaoke with my friends last night. I was talking to my friend and leaning close to hear since it was so loud and my chair fell. Next thing I know the bartender is handing me my check saying I need to close out because he thinks I’m drunk. I had two drinks for myself. Bartenders were very rude and so was the DJ. The DJ kept yelling at people for folding their papers with song requests in half. It felt like every worker there had a stick up their arce all night. Very rude. It was my first time going to Ernies in about 3 years and I remember my past experience at Ernies to be much more pleasant. I’m not sure what’s changed (staff, management?), but my entire group decided we don’t want to return after last night. I was embarrassed because my cousin even drove 2 hrs from Congress, AZ to be with us and she experienced such lousy service. Would recommend going ANYWHERE else before Ernies. There are a lot better karaoke bars in Scottsdale with better bartenders and a much nicer DJ. Ernies also charged my aunt and I both an extra $15. Not sure what it’s for. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Extremely unprofessional experience. The tall, skinny male bartender with brown hair that has nothing going in life that’s why he works there, was shockingly rude and completely inappropriate. He inserted himself into a private conversation between my friends that had absolutely nothing to do with him. One of my friends became ill and was in the bathroom, so I went to retrieve her medication from her purse that had been left at the bar. While calmly explaining this to my other friend, the bartender aggressively interrupted and told us we needed to leave immediately because she was sick then had the audacity to comment that I was a “bad friend” for stepping away, despite the fact that I was getting her medication that bartender is a complete joke.
For more context, we actually had just arrived, ordered one drink…one drink ! And my friend became very sick shortly after receiving it. While I won’t make accusations, the timing alone was alarming and left us extremely uncomfortable. The way the situation was handled showed zero care, professionalism, or basic human decency.
To make matters worse, the blonde female bartender was also rude and dismissive, contributing to an already tense and uncomfortable environment instead of helping de-escalate it.
The bar itself felt dirty and unclean, which only added to the overall unpleasant experience. Between the hostile staff, lack of professionalism, and the way a potentially serious situation was handled, I would strongly caution others before coming here.
We will absolutely not be returning.

Had a blast singing karaoke last night, but everyone who served us was incredibly rude. We were ignored and treated really poorly while trying to have a good time. The bartenders and man who ran the karaoke really tried to ruin the night!

I love this place and the bartenders but the Kareoke DJ is a complete drunk and yells at women. He kept leaving the stand to get beer… after beer, and was horrible to people. As a business owner – you should look into getting another DJ because this guy is a liability to your business. I’ll come back to drink at the bar but until they get rid of him… I won’t risk brining my friends or family here again.

My daughter and I went there Saturday afternoon for a couple of drinks. The bartender was rude to begin with. I ordered a well Vodka on the rocks and my daughter ordered a jack and coke and I gave the bartender my credit card to open a tab. We went and found a table that about fell over on us, so we moved to another table not much better.
After about half an hour, we were ready for another drink. Trying to get her attention to get another round was frustrating. They were not packed mind you. The bartender was not leaving. I go to the bar and order another round. And when I went to close out our tab , the bartender had charged me 4 two absolute vodka drinks and charged me for the rocks. When I questioned her about it, she told me to talk to the owner, but the owner wasn’t there, and she was not going to change my receipt.Because that is what we ordered.We will never be back.I have never been treated so rudely or disrespectfully.

Went there on Halloween. There was a bartender, male, red shirt, at the bar outside without karaoke. The worst service I ever received. Ignored us to the point the people sitting next to us felt so bad they ordered our drinks. Once I handed the bartender my card he still didn’t acknowledge me. Dropped the check. I said you’re welcome. He looked at me as if I insulted him. I signed the check and he immediately opened it in front of me. So tacky and embarrassing. Do better.

Went in for a low-key drink after work and were met with rude, dismissive staff. Tall blonde bartender/server made the vibe uncomfortable enough that we left shortly after arriving. Would not recommend when there are much better options nearby.

I dont know anything about the food, FYI….. but the service is horrible, they gave my similar credit card to somebody else by mistake, no big deal, right? Just keep me updated as to what is going on……. nope nope nope they never called me at all, i went there personally one time to see if i could figure out what was going on, no answers, except that the “boss is gonna be back later” always later, several times “boss will be back later” edit: no response to bad reviews shows how much they really dont care

Lucky to have stumbled upon Ernie’s on Sunday. It’s a great bar and was perfect to be outside on a mild day in AZ. Bartender was super friendly. They are decorated nicely for Halloween. Large selection of beers and cocktails. Highly recommend Ernie’s!
