We found this little gem when we were on vacation for a few days. Great breakfast and loved my tea in a pretty teapot. The owner Kimberlee was welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be back when we are in town. Thanks!

I don’t often give poor reviews, but this feels… necessary. First, we were served a cup of old coffee, half-filled. The intention was to serve what was left while brewing a fresh pot. Just. Don’t. Do. That. Ever. Just tell the patrons that a fresh pot is brewing and have them wait. Better yet, don’t run out of fresh brewed coffee at 9 am.

Food came out cold, not hot and fresh. The cook was clearly having a rough time with timing, because another customer across the room also had to return cold breakfast potatoes. I just toughed through it, because hot potatoes wouldn’t have helped them taste any better! They were charred, with black soot specks all over them, tasting like old, rancid, dirty oil. The hollandaise on my Eggs Benedict tasted rank and chalky, not at all fresh and lemony. The color was wrong and the sauce had solidified because it was also served cold. I couldn’t stand the flavor of the english muffin, either. It tasted like it was brushed with rancid, old oil, then grilled on a dirty cook top. Honestly, that’s the same OFF flavors of the potatoes! The tiny flecks of salmon weren’t worth the upcharge and had a dry, chalky mouth-feel that needed to be washed down with water… which also tasted OFF… the water wasn’t even good.

My boyfriend’s chicken fried steak was definitely of the frozen variety, over fried, and smothered in cheap, canned, peppered country gravy. The only thing on either of these two plates that was prepared well were the eggs themselves! They were perfect… once I scraped the solidified hollandaise off of them!

The service wasn’t bad at all, apart from the half cup of coffee served, which I do think was well-intentioned and without malice.

I likely wouldn’t visit Renaissance again, as no part of that culinary experience would merit my return.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Renaissance Cafe in Leavenworth, and it was a fantastic experience. The food was absolutely amazing, and I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices. I had the Kylene, which is cinnamon swirl French toast with homemade orange butter. I did pay a bit extra for a side of orange butter, but it was worth it. We also had really good espresso martinis. I highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a delicious meal in Leavenworth. You have to go down a flight of stairs to get to the restaurant, and it is quite small inside, but it’s still worth it to go there.

It’s a sweet little place to go to breakfast. A cafe nook atmosphere and very kind servers. The food is amazing! If you’re gluten free, they have gf pancakes and waffles. I had the pancakes and they were great!

Do not go here unless you enjoy surprise billing and nausea. The menu pricing is inaccurate and they are well aware. Wish we had read other reviews regarding this. The “omelets” apparently do not even include the eggs in the price. What? We already paid separately for 2 omelet fillers, one of which we were overcharged for as well. When we brought up the discrepancies and showed them the menu the waitress said “well that’s what we charge, the menu is wrong, and we have a separate per egg charge not included in the price.” She showed us a peice of paper stuck to the front of the menu she had (not visible on my menu) that said there was a $1.00 fee for additional eggs, but we didn’t add any more than what the omelet included and that additional fee was still less than what we were charged. She shrugged it off and repeated that “the price is the price”. So what does the price of their omelets include? Labor to make it I guess, and a diced potato since we didn’t even get the toast, and as we were charged and had to pay for every other ingredient separately. We paid extra for strawberries (which turned out to be only about 2 tbsp worth) and gluten free pancakes and both had absolutely no flavor. Also, both my husband and I felt very ill within 30 minutes of finishing this very bland, flavorless meal we overpaid for and I ended up sick for the rest of the day. AVOID.

One of the best places for Breakfast in Leavenworth.
The Breakfast offerings are outstanding and always cooked perfectly.
It’s a small and inviting. Great service.
There’s a reason they have been around for many years.

One thing they offer on their breakfast menu that I love is the build your own scramble or omelet.

Prices are very reasonable.
I have not had the pleasure of having lunch there but I can say that their lunch menu looks as good as their breakfast menu.

A fine breakfast experience but nothing that will blow you out of the water. The French toast was good, but the fruit served on the side was pretty sad and didnt seem fresh. The chicken friend steak was okay, the potatoes were quite yummy. It felt a little pricey for what we got. The service was reasonable and very fast. I didn’t have a bad time, but am unlikely to return.

I don’t like giving negative reviews, and I know it’s easy when looking at reviews to disregard the bad reviews, but trust me when I say this was not good. When we walked in the door the waitress seemed annoyed that customers came in. Maybe she was just having a bad day, I don’t know, she did lighten up a bit later. We had 6 people and they automatically put on an 18% tip, which the service certainly didn’t warrant.

As for the food, underwhelming is a nice way of putting it. The gluten free pancakes, eggs, and bacon were all pretty good. The biscuit was dense, like a piece of bread instead of a biscuit, inedible. The potatoes were old and overcooked and there was barely any of them. It seemed like the oil was dirty. Patty sausage was old and gray and rubbery, but the links were fine. The coffee tasted old and over brewed. Some other guests left because the waffle machine was broken even though they had waffles on the menu. There wasn’t even enough food. I left hungry and unsatisfied. Do not recommend.

Stopped by for Sunday brunch, and the dining area is so small! It definitely makes you feel claustrophobic and hot when there’s only a few tables full. I was not impressed with the food, very bland and underwhelming (American classic breakfast food). Service was just okay. Ordered a mimosa, but the orange juice tasted stale, and the champagne-to-OJ ratio was completely off. I also ordered waffles, which were soggy before I even put any syrup or butter on them. I’d highly recommend saving your money and choosing a spot that better fits the town’s vibe.

This is a quaint little restaurant with good food. I ordered the salmon scramble with local wild salmon. It was delicious. I even got a side of avocado for avocado toast. The potatoes were not bad but not great and I didn’t end up eating them. The espresso was delicious.

We also ordered a chocolate chip pancake which was massive and pretty good. My other son got the country fried steak and gravy and liked it.

They have an item called God food on the menu. We had to try it because we hadn’t heard of it. Its a sticky pasta and wasn’t really all that great.

Service was amazing. Even though the sauce is small it didn’t feel cramped and we were comfortable.
