August 2025 Edit: We stopped by for our area favorite BBQ only to wonder what happened. Our order was for takeout.
They were not busy, there were 4 tables of diners. We ordered 1 pound of sliced Brisket, which came out as lumps of over done dry meat. The 1/2 rack of ribs was just ok but very dry. The 1/2 pound of chicken came out soo chopped up that it was tiny crumbs. The beans were great and very tasty. The order of onion rings were overcooked and we just threw them away.
I really hope that they read this review and address the problem in the kitchen.
We love this BBQ place and stop in every time we pass through the area. The staff is great and we noticed that they remodeled since our last visit. The BBQ BRISKET is great and we also got the Smoked Chicken which my wife loves. The Brisket is over the top good, smoked to perfection.
The staff is so nice and very helpful, we’ll keep going back.

This was my first time enjoying Choo Choo BBQ. The service was excellent! We ordered fried pickles for an appetizer and they were delicious. So was the ranch dipping sauce. My husband ordered the Beef Brisket Plate with Macaroni and Cheese and Greens. He said his beef brisket was the best in this town, the macaroni and cheese was good, but the greens weren’t to his liking. I ordered the 58 burger and onion rings. I think the burger could have been great if the meat was seasoned a little bit more. The onion rings were pleasingly crunchy and had a good onion to batter ratio.

Choo Choo BBQ is the definition of comfort. From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel like family, and the food feels like a hug. The pork rinds with queso and the pickle sausage cheese platter are absolute must-haves, and every single meat is smoked to perfection. Don’t even get me started on the handcrafted desserts—they are the perfect finishing touch. Honestly, the food is so homey and filling that I almost wish they had a lounge area with couches so I could nap for an hour before driving home!

Texas fries,enough for lunch for 2. We bought a 4 meat combo for the weekend snacking with corn fritters, smoked chicken tater salad, and hush puppies. I am pretty sure I’ve found the goto BBQ for the forseeable future. Great food, generous portions, reasonable?? prices. ALL out to eat prices are outside what you’d call reasonable 4-5 years ago. Hell 15.00 for a burger, fries, and drink… REALLY. This place rocks I’ll be dining here until it changes, can’t wait to try the Blackberry cobbler!

On the day we came they only had 1 server, someone had called out, but she did a very good job of running 6 tables and multiple Togo orders. The big pig sandwich was very tasty. The pulled pork had a nice not too heavy smoke on it and the sausage on the sandwich very good. The sandwich also had fried onion straws in it. Both sandwiches had generous portions. Fries standard and good. The potato salad was not how I prefer but was good. It was made with mustard and dill pickles. The grease out of the grease pork rinds were fantastic.

My wife and I are brand new to this area. We how to pick up with them to take home. We were missing a few items. I called the manager.She asked me to bring back in my receipt which I did about ten days later.Once we got moved into our new house. I spoke with the owner and a very nice gentleman behind the counter.They were the most pleasant and genuine people.You could ever want to come across in a business. They made everything right, and then they went overboard. Also I cannot tell you if you want a better place to go.I don’t think you’ll find it. Not to mention that the food is absolutely fabulous.John

We’ve eaten here several times amd loved it! The BBQ ribs amd brisket are 100% perfect. The sad thing is this last visit was beyond terrible! We ordered fried pickles as an appetizer. They were so salty that we couldn’t eat them. They were beyond what any human being could handle! It was overwhelming!! The server refunded our money immediately.
I ordered a half rack with okra and collard greens. My GF ordered grilled chicken fingers, collard greens and pinto beans.
The collard greens and the grilled chicken fingers were so salty they were inedible!

Great food, great service. The pulled pork was delicious but the ribs were EXCEPTIONAL! Loved the baked beans, potato salad, pickled beets and onion rings as well. Definitely check out if visiting the Chattanooga area.
