We ended up here for dinner on Super Bowl Sunday after reading a couple reviews that called it “the best Mexican food in Valdosta.” I need to share my experience with this caution: Whether or not that’s a glowing recommendation depends on the restaurants it’s compared to!

Pros: It was open on a Sunday night. The decor is cute & vibrant. The waitress was sweet.

Cons: Although we were the only diners there, the kitchen was very slow.

The lights blinked off repeatedly & the waitress apologized & told us, “they’re messing with the breakers.” Distracting, but when they shut off the TV in the middle of the 3rd quarter of the Super Bowl—that was too much!

The music was loud & enervating. My husband is hard of hearing, so I asked if they could shut off the breaker for the music. The waitress agreed & went to the back, but the music kept going.

My husband’s enchiladas looked like someone had rolled a tortilla around some meat & poured sauce on top without baking it.

My pork carnitas looked like a reasonable serving, but it had huge mushy chunks of fat in it. By the time I picked out the meat, it was clear that fully half the serving was made up of cooked onions underneath.

The medium order of guacamole was okay, but the salsa did not have much flavor. There was another bowl of sauce (?) that tasted like runny puréed black beans, at a guess.

In short, although my husband was not unhappy with his meal, I left hungry and am not willing to return.

I recently visited El Paso Tacos at 110 N Ashley St, in Valdosta, GA. I was pleasantly surprised when we went here. The decor was very interesting and I took a walk around just to check it all out. We were promptly seated and our drinks orders were taken and brought out. Our server was real good and helped us pick out some great food items. Go and try it, delicious.

I can see why they were voted the best Mexican restaurant in Valdosta! Pretty good food and the prices weren’t bad either.

We stopped in during a road trip. The food was OK, but not great. We had the Chili relleno (sort of an odd sauce), the tostadas, and the veggie plate. All just average. The waitress was super friendly and the beer was cold!

I don’t usually leave reviews but the service here was phenomenal yesterday afternoon. Our waitress Sierra was very attentive and very knowledgeable and helpful. She had no hesitation to assist my wife in ordering or with telling us about the area we were currently visiting. The tall male walking around checking on the tables inside the restaurant also seemed very attentive. We will definitely be back when we visit the area again. The food was great. Very clean establishment.

The wait staff are amazing. The waiter recommended the perfect dish for us. The margarita on the rocks was delicious. The Nachos locos on a bed of rice was delicious and filling. The flavors were paired well together. The flan was nice and cremy a bit different than i expected. But the cinnamon paired well with it. Everything was super fresh. Highly recommend if you’re in the area to give them a shot.

I found everything about the meal to be very good. Our party of four was seated quickly; chips, service, meal, dessert, everything came out promptly. The salsa was not hot, but it had a good taste to it. There was also another bowl of something served with the chips. It looked sort of like a bean dip, but I’m not exactly sure what it was and I didn’t ask.

The ground beef used in the various dishes tasted good to me. One person in our group did not like the way the meat was prepared. In the meat were some vegetables that they didn’t care for or expect.

Parking is along a city street and it wasn’t an issue at all on a Sunday afternoon. On a Friday or Saturday night I could see you having to walk a little bit.

I would eat here again and recommend it to friends.
