In 1992 our Rei dos Leitões first opened its doors in London Ontario. The Vieira family bought the restaurant in 2001 introducing it outside the Portuguese community, who then coined us as King of the Pigs. Soon the restaurant became well known in the city for its unique charcoal-infused chicken and their very own signature sauces. Our version of Piri Piri sauce became a must-have with any order. The main style of our cuisine is churrasqueira, meaning an open flame BBQ. Today we use hard wood charcoal as the only source of fuel for cooking chickens, giving it our unique flavours.

Came here with my family for the first time and had a wonderful experience. We ordered the octopus, steak, and wings, and all the dishes came in generous portions and tasted great. The place has a very welcoming, classic family-diner vibe that makes you feel comfortable right away. The staff were all incredibly friendly and attentive, which really added to the experience. A special mention goes to their homemade barbecue sauce—you definitely don’t want to miss it. I’ll be coming back whenever I’m in town for sure. Highly recommended, even if you’re just stopping by for drinks and a relaxed, enjoyable time.

I would give it a 0 if I could because their customer service is horrendous. You’d think placing an order for pick up means when you pick it up at the time they say it would be ready, the food is hot and fresh. Reagan at take out seems to be under the impression that customers are obligated to pay for a meal that doesn’t meet the standard temperature expectations for food. The owner is also arrogant as he would not even listen to my concerns as customer, rather he was upset I did not want to pay for cold food. Interesting how the customer service works at this place compared to literally any other restaurant ever. The expectation that the customer should not speak up about the food quality and just pay to support a business that does not care about customer satisfaction is definitely a concept that does not make any sense.

The chicken was delicious, the bbq sauces are the best part. So much flavour and spice. Bread and olives were given at the beginning to start which was a nice touch. Very large portions for reasonable prices.
This is our second time trying this place and it was definitely much better and super delicious the second time. It was recommended to us by a friend who raves about it, but our first time I think the staff was overwhelmed by how many people showed up from an event in the area. The food was still good but not amazing. This time the food was fantastic and we will definitely be back.

We were very excited to come here and eat after reading all the reviews. We ordered the 1/2 chicken and pork cutlets and both were very dry. It seemed that the food had been sitting for a while and lost a lot of moisture.
The pulled pork sandwich though was delicious and so were the sauces.
I was looking forward to trying some toast piglet but they don’t serve them on weekdays. Too bad.

Had the most wonderful experience here with my boyfriend tonight thought we’d try a new barbecue place and we were absolutely blown away by the service and the food, and the atmosphere of this restaurant! Chicken was so juicy and the skin was crispy and flavourful 10/10, the ribs were fall off the bone 10/10, and don’t get me started with the bread to start…who doesn’t like free fresh bread, plus giant portions!!! and the effort they put into this place bringing over napkins without even asking!! They truly made our night and we will definitely be eating here again!! Thank you for such great service!

This use to be one of our favorite go to restaurants, up untill we hired them to cater our wedding last month. Our food was over an hour late, and when we called numerous times to inquire on where the food was, the lady on the phone finally answered, and said , she would call him, the driver told her he went threw a ride program so he’s running late. Ride programs don’t take over an hour to go threw, plus why didnt they call us to let us know this!? It’s clear they were just way off schedule. I had alot of hungry guests, over 80 waiting for dinner and being on the phone dealing with this, is not something you want to deal with on your wedding day. When the food finally arrived, ribs were dry, and we didn’t get the proper foods we asked and paid for. They didnt bring the proper seasoned veggies we asked for, that we sampled at the restaurant prior to our wedding, they brought us just plain boiled like mixed veggies, that were tasteless. The food tasted nothing like it did at the restaurant when we sampled it. I would not recommend having them cater for your wedding. It was very disappointing, and embarrassing as well having this happen on our special day. We spent alot of money on the food, and we were not compensated for anything .

First time here at King of Pigs restaurant in East London on Hamilton-Road. I went with a friend who had been there before many times and came highly recommended. Friendly crowd and busy for a Wednesday. Our waitress recommended steak, but my guest strongly recommended octopus. I went to with the octopus. It was excellent and tender, not to big. I would have it again but would forgo boiled vegetables for salad and fries.

I have been going there since it opened and the food was fresh hot and amazing. Was there on Friday for dinner and had the half chicken with rice. The food was luke warm at best and the rice was dry with the peas looking old dried up. I was very disappointed and let the waitress know. I will not return and I’m sad that the quality has gone so far down. Used to be the best grilled chicken in town.

I ordered food for delivery and they called me back after 10 mins and for some reason had to confirm that I could pay for it because apparently we had problems paying the driver last time which is untrue I’ve only ordered delivery once before and had no issues. They must of mistaken me for someone else in the building with the same address. Anyway I thought nothing of it and then paid $25 for delivery fee which is ridiculous. Anyway I received my order and it was the wrong meat, I ordered pulled pork and got chicken. I have never ordered chicken and wouldn’t order chicken. I called the restaurant and told them the order was wrong and the lady swore up and down I said chicken and said she triple checks with customers so I was wrong apparently. I only order pulled pork sandwich’s from here and another person who I was ordering for on the phone heard me ask for 2 PULLED PORK sandwiches and had to get on the phone to let the lady know we ordered right and it was their mistake. She finally admitted it was her mistake and said she would send a driver to collect the food and send our proper order. We waited over an hour for the driver to get here and then I went to take a bite after all this and there was ribs inside my sandwich and I bit that hard. I am done dealing with them at this point and will never be spending money or recommending to friends and family any longer. Also over payed. $56 for 2 sandwich’s and fries with delivery and their not even 3 kilometres away. Never again
