I have lived in Terrell my whole life and finally decided to try this place. Walking in just feels gross. We were the only ones there and now I see why. To start with the soda wasn’t good. The waitress took our order wrote it all down. Still had to come back and ask us what we ordered, to only bring the 3 plates of food out all wrong!! Then argued that what my mil ordered wasn’t even on the menu!! I got the classic bacon cheeseburger (can’t go wrong) it was absolutely horrible like 2 bites and I am gagging and refused to eat the rest of it. Same with the other 2 plates. First time and last time we will ever come here!

Been wanting to try this place and it was a disappointment for sure. The chicken fried steak was tough as leather, about an 1/8 of an inch thick, and 40 percent batter. I’m almost 50 and was born in Texas. I’ve eaten chicken fried steak at hundreds of restaurants. This was one of the worst. There was at least an inch of batter around most of it and a decent chunk of it had like 2 inches of batter. Also the batter just pealoff the top in one piece, very odd. As you can see in picture the supposed steak looked more like a McDonald’s hamburger patty than a steak. The hash browns were slimy and had a very strange taste to them. The waitress was rude and never came back after the food was brought out. Bad service, bad food, would not recommend this place to anyone.

The food is good. The service is excellent. The prices are fair. The facility is in need of repairs. The front door doesn’t close all the way. So sitting anywhere near it on a cold and windy day is uncomfortable and prematurely cools your food. Several booths are torn and in bad shape. But it is still one of my local favorites. Some people probably think it adds to the rustic atmosphere that looks trapped in the 1970s. If you are hungry, you won’t be after your visit. The fajitas have a really nice char flavor and remain my favorite dish.

This place is horrible. My daughter and I have not been in along time and we will not be back. Our salad had water on it and we had drain it. My beef kabobs came out on a plate mixed up w no wooden stick. My daughter steak was well done, nasty, tough. The lettuce looked pale like it should be trashed. The meat had a bad taste. My granddaughter said the bathroom was from the 90s and stuff moved in there. We left and stopped at quick stop to get drinks. It was a very disappointing dinner and we will not go back and do not go there.

Great food for a great price. Place is a little dated and could use an update. If your coming for the food and not the looks then hurry and get here. You want be disappointed. We tried breakfast and both my wife and my food was delicious.

Visited just after breakfast ended, literally 11:15 and was hoping for breakfast so we requested the breakfast menu. Ordered the corned beef hash with grits and it was just the right amount of food not to overstuff myself, but small enough to annoy a hungry person. The service was okay and the food was good.

Honestly I like the workers. But the food is FOWL.
As I was a former food health inspector and a certified cook I have never seen this kind of cooking before.
What kind of concoctions are you guys making.
The salsa taste like alcohol. It’s been fermenting. So I’m pretty sure it’s days old.
The soup I ordered, the potatoes turned into French fries- grainy , the carrots are limp and stringy and hard on outside, super stringy mushy on the inside.
So they’re using veggies that are not fresh.
The soup I got is called caldo de rez and it tastes like straight up rotel and lentejas.
I would recommend not choosing this place.
I would recommend,
I like la azteca better, they give you more your buck.
Here at this location is 13$ for 20oz cup of soup with no rice or tortillas.
La azteca is 9.99 drink and tortillas and rice and a 32oz soup.
I will be business elsewhere.
As for this meal, my husband who eats about everything, was absolutely disgusted and said it was not even close to caldo de rez.
I know everyone says it’s our recipe. Well change it cause it’s nasty and most likely the reason why you guys don’t get business. You just have loyal customers.
Gordon Ramsay would be disappointed.

Absolutely a great place for breakfast. If you’re gonna have a bad attitude coming here. Stay home. They have my business here. Coffee and food is all good. Can’t go wrong here. Prices are reasonable. My hash-browns was cooked to perfection. I’ll will be back to here soon. Everyone here is very polite. Great place and please come and have some breakfast.

My new breakfast spot. Big cups of tasty coffee, friendly, quick service and a really broad menu. By the way, I don’t know what they put in their gravy, but I’m addicted to it. Very yummy! (no gravy in pic this time…I went with server recommended western omelette…I loved it!)
