I come to this restaurant on a beautiful fall day in early November for brunch with two other people. We made the reservation two days prior through Resy. When we arrived at the restaurant, it was less than half full which is not a good sign for a restaurant in the West Village on a nice weekend afternoon. I generally do not like Brunch meals, but sometimes I have to do things I don’t enjoy.

Unfortunately, this restaurant highlighted everything I don’t like about brunch. Everything tasted very generic and was not cheap. I had the breakfast sandwich which was fine. My husband had the steak sandwich which came on soggy bread.

The staff at the restaurant were nice, but didn’t seem to care at all about what was going on. My husband ordered a drink that never came. The host was his phone most of the time. The server brought us the check without asking if we were finished.

Do yourself a favor and go to Pastis down the street instead of here. I would not recommend and I would not go back.

Mino Brasserie is a super cute spot with a cozy, charming atmosphere. The escargot was excellent an unusual but delicious combo with tomato and crunchy garlic, perfect with red wine. Would definitely come back

Came here for my one year anniversary with my girlfriend. The service was good and we got attended to quickly. Food also came out fast; though the portions weren’t that small, I don’t really think it’s worth the price considering how expensive it is. But nonetheless it was good.

I really liked this French restaurant!

We ordered some classics like oysters , beef tartare, duck and mussels.

Everything was 10/10.

I am definitely definitely coming back !

Came here for brunch and had an amazing time!! Enjoyed the waffles (the chocolate is on the dark side and perfectly not too sweet), omelette w ham, and the frisee salad. All delicious and well priced for a calm and cozy atmosphere in prime location.

Absolutely amazing French cuisine, everything was unique but tasted completely balanced. The salad is phenomenal, I love when salads are made with more than just the standard greens. All the ingredients went together so well, I would definitely come back here and I have absolutely zero complaints about any of it.
Service was very attentive and inviting as well, very nice atmosphere.

Standard – quotidian french fare, had the brie with chutney, the hangar steak because they were out of the boeuf bourguinon and the creme brulee.

Decent execution – the creme brulee was most ordinary – the ambience middle of the road.

I would revisit because they are not bad. The gentleman manning the counter was a gem – Guadeloupe origin but raised in frame – did optometry and decided in the grand tradition of immigrants to try his luck in “La ville de New York”

Lovely restaurant setting and staff are great. The food was hit or miss though. $8 for four small pieces of uninspired bread is steep. However, the escargot that followed was absolutely delicious and bursting with flavour, and despite the price point of the bread, it was a welcomed accompaniment to dip into the sauce that came with it. For mains, my wife’s Boeuf Bourguignon was tasty, complete with a rich sauce and tender meat. My 8oz hanger Steak Au Poivre was unfortunately overdone, with the steak requiring a heavy bit of chewing to get through. That being said, the peppercorn sauce that accompanied it was tasty. We also ordered two cocktails. Overall it was an ok experience, but at $170+ for two, I don’t feel like it was worth it.

I write reviews once every 3-4 years, so my Google review street cred isn’t phenomenal. But that was probably one of the best filet / steak sandwiches I’ve ever had. Not gonna lie, when I arrived I was disappointed to find out that the French onion soup was only available on the dinner menu. But man, did that steak sandwich make up for it and then some.

I was so excited because the reviews are amazing, but left the establishment quite disappointed. Maybe I don’t have the palette for French food, or maybe I am not fit for French Cuisine, so read with a grain of salt.

Atmosphere: It’s cute and cozy, I initially really enjoyed it but I felt like the music was so loud that I had difficulty hearing what the server was saying. I had to clarify what we wanted a few times and asked them to repeat themselves as well.

Service: Everything felt a bit off; after enjoying our appetizers, they were trying to take the plates back and asked if we wanted to keep our cutlery. Because we were offered the option to keep them, we thought why not and said yes. The server then put our used cutlery directly onto the table – I wasn’t a fan of this because it didn’t feel very sanitary. Maybe having a napkin would’ve helped.
We were waiting for our mains when we saw a server with what looked to be our food. She seemed to be confirming things with a different server in the hall, so we waited patiently. She finally got to our table, put down the moules du prince edouard and magret de canard a l’orange and left. A couple bites into our food, she came back with a steak knife and extra dish to put the mussel shells. We had already tried cutting into the duck with our butter knives and kept the mussel shells in the corner of our dish. Iy was just a frustrating process to watch everything being delayed.
Towards the end of our meal, a server asked if we were done with our food and took away the plate for the duck. It had my partner’s cutlery on top, so they took it away with the plate and we ended up sharing our forks for the last few bites of the mussels.

Food: I like to believe that I am someone who knows how to enjoy the flavor of the ingredients. Despite this, I felt like the food was so underwhelming and under seasoned.
Tartare de saumon: It was refreshing and the avocado base made everything very creamy. However, I think a bit more acid than just a small lemon wedge would have helped the dish immensely. It felt very creamy so I was left craving something a bit more acidic.
Escargots grantinés: It was good. Nothing to complain about.
Moules de prince edouard: I’ve had moules frites many times and I feel like this was the least flavored one I’ve had so far. The sauce just didn’t have that oomph and no matter how much I dunked the fries into it, I couldn’t pick up any flavor. I think the fries overpowered the sauce and mussels, which I feel is hard to do since mussels are so fragrant themselves. As my partner was telling me that maybe more salt would’ve helped, we looked over to the table next to us to see a man who ordered the Steak au poivre – he was aggressively salting and peppering his steak. So, I believe we’re probably not the only ones who thought the food needed something extra.
Magret de canard a l’orange: When asked how we would like the duck cooked, we said medium to medium rare. I understand that maybe there could some confusion with that, but when the duck came out and we tried cutting into it, it was so tough and dry it felt like a well done steak. The parsnip purée and orange glaze was good, but I think giving more of the glaze rather than a small dollop would have helped the dish.

Overall, this was a disappointing experience compared to my expectations. Maybe there is a specific fan base with the complete opposite palette as mine, so try for yourselves before making judgment. I don’t think I’ll be coming back to this establishment.
