I visited Pulpo Loco on a super cold Sunday afternoon for lunch. I was driving by and decided to check them out for a quick taco. To my suprise, the place wowed me completely… the freshness of the food, the cleanliness of the place and the service from the staff took my “quick taco stop” to a very delicious lunch that I can’t wait to have a again. I recommend you check them out!

The best Mexican restaurant in the north side of Chicago! The seafood is fresh, the corundas and flautas exquisite! The food is an explosion of flavor in your mouth! The best part is the impeccable service. Betty was phenomenal! Her kindness, excellent customer service, and attentiveness made my experience simply perfect. Gracias Betty!

A mi me encanta venir aquí cuando está Betty !! El servicio que da es excelente y siempre está pendiente de todos !

For my English people !!! Yall try the tacos they are FIRE!! And the salsas are A1 !! I’ve had the tacos… the mojara (fried fish ) now that’s even better (sober and hung over ) it’s amazing ! One of the best I’ve had ! Again if you get served by Betty she won’t disappoint!

Really tasty and fresh seafood at this Mexican restaurant. We had guacamole, mixed ceviche, and fried spicy garlic red snapper. We enjoyed everything and think the portions were very large.

I did think that the ceviche had a bit too much tomato sauce which turned the dish a bit sweet. I would recommend only using 75% or the amount of sauce that is being used so that there is more focus on that fresh seafood. The fake crab is also not necessary we though.

The friend fish was very tasty and fried perfectly, but again, the sauce made it a bit sweeter than I’d like. The fish had a slightly fishy taste, but nothing crazy and I’m sure that can vary from dish to dish.

Perfecto!!! Most of the great Mexican restaurants in Rogers Park are BYOB. These margs are life changing! Yaaaas! So good!

The food was amazing also! We had the taco dinner and all the tacos were absolutely amazing.

Easily the best Mexican restaurant on the north side. The staff are lovely, especially Betty.

Food is so good and fresh that despite going almost weekly I still have a hard time deciding what to get from the huge menu. And it never fails that as I’m wolfing down my meal I ask about other delicious looking plates delivered to other diners and make a note for my next visit.

The ceviches are consistently fresh and delicious. Most seafood at small restaurants scares me and I never order. But this charming little spot has never once smelled even remotely fishy, and the shrimp, octopus, fish, etc are always, always clean and fresh tasting. I would not order otherwise.

But don’t sleep on the other menu items, they’re also terrific. And they have booze!

Highly recommended!!!

Service was questionable the moment I walked in there and the two servers had a very noticeable cold disposition. The server got my order wrong and still charged for the Cubano that I did ask for.
I don’t ever see myself coming back here with the energy that was displayed and poor execution of the order.
2/10 but wouldnt come back to waste my money again. And its a shame
I came to support local and latino owned and this is what i got. Not ideal.
Not a good way to spend our time or money. Now all the memory i have of pulpo loco is not good at all. Save ur$

Great authentic Mexican food at a reasonable price. I ordered the al pastor, carne asada and beef with guacamole tacos. They were all excellent. They have several types of ceviche available as well and many other Mexican food classics. Very friendly staff, too. Highly recommended!

All-around everything was great.
A few notes, though: spicy means spicy (that’s coming from someone who grows Carolina reaper peppers to make hot sauce); some tables are a little cramped the closer you get to the counter
Horchata was amazing

Amazing all around. Very friendly staff and the food and drinks were incredible. I recommend the guac and their Spicy Cucumber Margarita. They even have a lot of hot sauces for those who want to spice up their dishes!
