In the middle of it all was Carter—moving fast, apron dusted with flour, hair slightly messy from the rush, but somehow still looking effortlessly put together. Customers noticed him right away. Not just because he was super cute and handsome—with an easy smile and bright eyes—but because he worked harder than anyone else on the floor. He memorized regulars’ orders. He carried three plates at once without dropping a single fry. When the kitchen printer wouldn’t stop spitting out tickets, he didn’t complain. He just nodded, tied his apron a little tighter, and got to work. “Behind!” he’d call smoothly, sliding past servers with a tray of loaded nachos. “Got it!” someone would shout back. I recently dined at Social BTB, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Food was decent, service was very slow. I ordered one of their salads with chicken. The chicken was a slice like you’d put on a sandwich and impossible to cut on the salad in a large deep bowl with plastic knife and fork. The salad itself was huge. I went up to ask for a to-go box for it and they said they can only give the small sandwich boxes away, not the large boxes and offered me several small ones instead. Not tempted to go back.

Great service, everyone was friendly. The food came out fast and hot and delicious! The fried green beans were so yummy, spicy with lots of flavor. The bacon cheeseburger was seasoned perfectly and the bacon was great.

Tonight was my first night dining here (with my husband) and we only had some beers and appetizers, but we really enjoyed it! This place definitely has the social vibe handled. There are games to play at every table, plus more outside on the patio (like giant jenga) and the overall feel of the place is very inclusive – it was great to go for just us two to have drinks, but we would be happy to come back with our whole family. The beer selection is pretty good and the bartender, Michael, was quick to recommend delicious draft beers for our tastes. Also, please try the “social fries,” which are basically like nacho fries. All of the food is ordered at a small station by the bar and then a food runner brings it out, so you may have to do a bit of legwork yourself, but you won’t have to wait on a server to take your order!

We are not from Joplin. We were going to try a different burger place, but it was closed, so we wound up at BTB. The food and service was great! Loved the games on the tables, the TVs, and lounge areas. However, it’s in a shady part of town, and they lock up the bathrooms.
