California Fish Grill in Visalia is easily the best place I’ve eaten in years. No exaggeration. It’s so good I’ve been here four times in a week and a half (maybe five…who’s counting).
Tonight’s meal might be my favorite yet: the branzino and grilled shrimp skewer with the sweet chili glaze, white rice, and kaleslaw. Absolute perfection. Honestly, it’s the best meal I’ve had in a long time, and I could eat this exact plate every single day and never get tired of it.
I’ve also had the salmon plate with zucchini and rice, which was phenomenal. Perfectly cooked, clean flavors, just done right. The fish and chips are good—exactly what you expect—but with how incredible the branzino and salmon are, it’s honestly worth skipping the fried stuff and going all-in on the grilled fish.
The dynamite shrimp bowl? Amazing. And the everything protein bowl deserves special recognition—it tastes like what you wish Chipotle tasted like if it were actually delicious. Loaded with protein, beans, rice, veggies, and flavor. Super satisfying. The tomatillo salsa with that bowl is next-level.
Everything tastes fresh, well-seasoned, and intentional—and despite being made to order, the food comes out fast, which is honestly impressive. No filler, no shortcuts. Just really good food, consistently.
If you like fish even a little, this place is a must.

Everything was a 10/10, I ha e passed by this place many times and never went in. Im so glad my hubby suggested it. They did not dissapoint. One of the servers, he helped us at the kiosk, he was very nice and patient. We will be back.

The food was amazing! They don’t take anything higher than a $20 bill though. Outlr bill was $93 and we couldn’t pay with a $100, suggest paying by card, I feel staff could be a bit friendlier. But the food was amazing. The flavor was great. I’ll definitely be eating there again

Food was Grt, Service was Good just the Manager wasn’t having common sense. That’s y I know it’s cooperate but sometime u gotta use common sense. I walked in to order food. I order salmon salad and dynamite bowl with white rice then manager says we don’t have white rice then I said I guess I will take brown rice then my total comes upto 42.48$. I had 42. 32 cents and 50$ bill then managers says no we can’t take 50$ and go ur short of money. I was like I don’t want brown rice ur forcing me to take it. She is like it’s company policy. Then I have to make my gf transfer money into my card somehow and pay with my card. Just with few cents shorts this manager was so unprofessional. I know it’s Cooperate just sometime use the Damn common sense. Seems like most people just get the job without having brain ♂️ ♂️

I’ve found my new favorite fish place!! I love the delicious variety of foods that this place offers, and I love that my picky toddler loves eating here too, which is a bonus! Not only is the food super delicious, but the dining atmosphere is very inviting as well. It’s a nice, clean place, and I appreciate that I am able to dine in with my children as well. I will definitely be returning more often!

Great tasty fish and shrimp. The grilled fish was extremely tender and very well seasoned. We will definitely return. Service was very friendly but also inexperienced. The coconut shrimp was fine. The tomatillo sauce was amazing. Heck, I’d go back just for the tomatillo sauce.

Do not order the fish and chips. Even though the fish is battered and deep-fried, they could have seen through the fish before it was battered. The coleslaw is really a salad, and their fries are soggy and seasoned more for a garlic steak than fish.

I’ve always had good customer service there when I go with my kids to dine there and for take out.
I once had a mistaken on my order and they corrected immediately with a positive attitude.
My son loves the salmon from there. My dad order the Hawaiian Trio and loved it.
I always get the half and half Shrimp Skewers with asparagus and a different 2nd side when I go.
