Awesome food and always fresh! You can get a whole variety of food here and I haven’t found anything so far that I didn’t like. The service is first class and the decor and vibe of the restaurant is amazing. I would highly recommend coming here!

We come here very rarely, but it’s worth every penny. Food is delicious and service is great and very friendly. A must come and visit.

SOHO offers delicious Japanese and Korean dishes with generous portions. The atmosphere is cozy, elegant, and inviting, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. Great spot for lunch or dinner. Can get busy, but worth the wait!

The service was extremely poor, as soon as you sat down they wanted to know what we wanted. There is also only one menu for the entire table which makes figuring out what each person wants pretty difficult, and getting somebody’s attention to ask for another one was impossible. Once you do decide what you would like, the staff is nowhere to be found. The atmosphere was not the best, the chairs and tables were uncomfortable, and they had an elevator style music blasting way too loud. I couldn’t hear the person across the table from me at all. The sushi selection was not great and what we did order didn’t seem to be the freshest or even sliced in the best manner and was definitely overpriced for what we got. We ordered the shrimp and calamari tempura, with two pieces of shrimp and several pieces of calamari rings that were very obviously frozen. The calamari was a completely different batter and had zero flavor. The veggie selection was a piece or two of broccoli, several thick slices of sweet potatoes and a top of a bell pepper and it was $18.99. They brought us fish that we did not order but insisted that we did. We ordered a small side of brown rice and it was just a bowl of mush . I ordered a volcano roll which had thin slices of overcooked scallops and in the middle of the roll was a large wedge of skin on cucumber which was extremely unpleasant to bite into. Once we got our food, they never checked on us again. We spent $125 before tip and felt that we had to stop somewhere else on our way home to eat because we were still hungry and completely left unsatisfied.

Was hitting Emagine theater in a couple hours and decided to get a meal in the vicinity and saw this gem if a place! It is Japanese/Korean cuisine and oh so good! The service was great, the atmosphere is wonderful and the food was outstanding! Lovely decorated restaurant and the staff was very attentive. We ordered some basics today because we didn’t particularly feel like going to crazy. We got their Beef Bulgogi and Chicken Tangsooyook with the sweat and sour sauce on the side for dipping. Everything was fresh and hot. The chicken was fried to perfection and really crispy! The cuts of beef they use for their Bulgogi is unmatched and I have tried that dish in many korean restaurants. Very lean, no fat at all and the smokey sweet marinade was wonderful. The kimchi was fermented perfectly with a bit of a kick but not super sour like a lot of kimchi. I loved it! If you are in the Rochester area check out SOHO! Thank me later!

This Korean Japanese restaurant has become one of my go to places, especially when it’s rainy. The galbitang and yukgaejang are so comforting. The broth tastes like it’s been cooked for hours and you actually feel better after eating it.
The sushi is really fresh too. Not fancy or over the top, just simple and clean and really good. It’s hard to find a place that does both soups and sushi well, but they somehow do.
Lunch prices are very reasonable and they don’t skimp on portions. You walk out satisfied instead of wondering where the rest of your food went.
I think what I like most is the owner. She’s genuinely friendly and remembers people, which makes the place feel easy to come back to.
With this kind of weather lately, hot soup from here is exactly what I’ve been craving.

She had a lunch special Spicy Chicken Box, I had a Vegas roll and a spicy tuna roll. The Vegas role was one of their specialty roles it was about 80% rice. The spicy tuna roll was not much different. The chicken in the spicy chicken box was very dry. I don’t like to give a bad review unless I really thought it was way undervalued. We also had a Diet Coke and a green tea the diet coke was in a glass that looked filthy I’m sure it was just soap spots but regardless wasn’t something you really want to drink. Our bill was $47 for lunch. Way overpriced and we under delivered.

I don’t normally leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share my recent experience due to how poorly my group and I were treated.
We visited the restaurant as a group of friends and were surprised to be seated separately, even though the restaurant was mostly empty. Wanting to enjoy our meal together, I politely moved two adjacent tables closer so we could sit as a group. Shortly after, a staff member approached us in a highly aggressive and confrontational manner, insisting the tables could not be moved—even though they were right next to each other and we were not disrupting any other diners.
She raised her voice and continued to repeat herself without offering any reasonable explanation, making the situation very uncomfortable. She also wrongly accused another member of our group of disobeying her instructions, even though she had not communicated anything clearly beforehand.
Despite ultimately complying and sitting separately, she returned mid-meal to again express that she didn’t like that we wanted to move the tables — even though we hadn’t. It felt as though we were being singled out and micromanaged in an unwelcoming and unprofessional way.
When the bills came, we were told a 20% gratuity would be automatically applied due to being a “large group.” I explained that we were seated separately and paid separately as two smaller groups — one of four and one of five — and that it didn’t make sense to apply an automatic gratuity in this case. I also expressed that, given the poor customer service and uncomfortable tone throughout our meal, I did not feel a 20% tip was appropriate. The staff member continued to argue, insisting that she relies on tips for her income, and even the owner pressured us by saying it was “unfair” not to tip 20%.
It’s deeply disappointing to be treated with hostility in a setting that should be warm and hospitable. We were respectful guests who simply wanted to sit together, and we were met with rudeness, repeated interruptions, and an unwillingness to accommodate even the most basic request.
Sadly, this experience overshadowed the meal and left us feeling unwelcome and disrespected. I would not return and cannot recommend this restaurant based on the way we were treated.
Also, bathroom was very dirty

We got here around 12 on a Sunday, no wait. I highly recommend getting the kimchi fried rice, it was incredibly delicious. The pork katsu and sushi were great as well, although for a single portion, I would have wished for a little more rice with the pork katsu. My wife got the kalbi tang but didn’t like it too much. Service was relatively fast and the atmosphere was on the quiet side.
