I have always tried to have a soft spot for the local Japanese restaurant, but every time I eat here the rice is always heavily peppered and over seasoned, the sushi rice has no vinegar and tastes bland. Tonight I just walked in to order at 8:40 and they turned me around and said we’re closed with people sitting down to eat just having gotten their orders it seemed to me. Phone steadily ringing getting ignored as well. Make the drive an go to Hokkaido you’ll be happier
PS: the local seasoning standard is more exquisitely executed at many of the other Japanese establishments within 10 miles regardless of the chat gpt response below no care was even taken by the owner sitting behind the tables to the side of the counter to let his customers know the kitchen was closed

Great customer service! Great food! Great pricing! We will definitely be back. We purchased the shrimp tempura rolls, crawfish roll and snow crab roll. The person ringing us up made kids chopsticks for my son! He was so nice and helpful. I would recommend this place for sushi and hibachi options

A really good sushi spot for this area! I started with the mushroom soup and the broth was so flavorful! A perfect addition to a meal on a cold rainy day. The gyoza was crispy and the sushi came out quick. The Hurricane (#16) is the fried roll and I wish it was a bit more crispy. Our favorites were the Rice Cafe (#1) and the Hawaiian (#5). The jalapeños gave the rice cafe roll a pleasant kick. Personally the Hawaiian was my favorite. It’s crunchy, sweet and really tasty.

Well wanted to try one of the new hot spots in Gluckstadt and taste wise it didn’t disappoint. The Fantastic Roll is just that with fresh almost sweet salmon and yellowtail. The flavor meld together nicely and with really satisfying texture and flavors. The spicy tuna roll could have been a bit more spicy but overall very good and yes fresh. The dynamite was the best flavor wise with a spicy mayo that was above all the best I’ve tasted. My only issue is the wait time. Approximately 30 minutes and I arrived shortly after opening time. It was busy and people were coming and going but 30 minutes for three rolls is not ideal. But I’ll try again because it’s the best I have had without having to go far or ordering via DoorDash or the like.

It used to be one of my favorites until within the last year. On my last call with this establishment, I called in to order a takeout for my coworker. The lady answered and told me to order online. So I said ok. After hanging up, my coworker, who is in disbelief, called them to place a takeout order, but the man took her order through the phone! Long story short, I’m done doing business with this place. Blue Fiji by the Germantown HS is so much better!

This is the second time we have been to this place, the first time was a bit disappointing but decided to give it another try and it was even worse. Inconsistent with the food items. Not worth the price you are paying at all! I suggest going to get Kroger sushi over this place.
UPDATE- You see how the “owner” responded. Very unprofessional, we live in America. If you can’t run a business with professionalism, courtesy, or consistency IN YOUR food then find another adventure to pursue.
