A really excellent lunch at Dax in the heart of Dublin city centre. From start to finish, everything felt thoughtful, calm and effortlessly professional.
I began with the beef tartare, which was beautifully fresh and perfectly balanced — classic flavours done with confidence. The fish of the day was outstanding, cooked exactly right and served with clean, seasonal accompaniments that let the quality of the ingredients shine. Dessert was the lemon tart, sharp, light and refreshing, a great way to finish.
Service was warm, attentive and genuinely welcoming -we were very well looked after without ever feeling rushed. Dax continues to live up to its reputation for fine food and consistency. A fantastic spot for lunch, and one we’ll definitely return to.

The whole experience was great. Staff were fantastic, very friendly, efficient and a pleasure to be served by them. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming.
The food was outstanding, the flavours were unbelievable the wine choice was good.
It will be a pleasure to go again, hopefully soon.

It’s a regular dining spot for us predominantly for the atmosphere and superb food. The team at Dax are always attentive and tuned in to the customers needs. Graham’s creative culinary delights from the kitchen are always superb. And there is never a shortage of delightful wines at whatever price point you choose. Highly recommend for a special occasion or a leisurely lunch.

I had no idea when I was planning our visit that we’d have *two* fantastic meals I felt worthy of at least one Michelin star! Serendipitous to say the least. Again, our meals were like eating fine art – every plate was gorgeous and it took everything we had not to inhale but slow down and savor the incredible flavors. The meal started with an amuse-bouche consisting of a sushi bite, one I can’t remember, and a delicious gougère. For starters, my husband had the stuffed courgette flower surrounded by an unctuous seafood bisque – the bisque was utterly amazing. I had the goat cheese salad, a riot of color and taste. My husband had the John Dory nightly special for his main, while I had the most perfectly cooked lamb with an apricot compote. Desserts were a trio of chocolate confections (husband) and a scrumptious pavlova (me). And as a special surprise, they brought out a plate with “Happy Anniversary” written in chocolate, with a chocolate raspberry truffle and a mini lemon tart. The lemon flavor was to die for! Our server was very correct and knowledgeable, but the real delight was the assistant server – I wish I’d asked her name. She graciously allowed me to speak French with her (she’s from Montpellier) and we had such a great time chatting I was afraid I’d get her in trouble for neglecting her other duties. She was the true gem of the place. The restaurant is cozy and intimate, and it was completely packed. I wholeheartedly recommend booking a table!

My partner and I came here one week ago to celebrate our anniversary and we were truly spoiled! The dinner menu had a very creative and (most importantly) delicious range of dishes.
The ambience is nice and cozy (despite not having a view as the windows were hidden by long curtains), and I would overall recommend this place for a special occasion!

The starters were delicious and well presented. The sauce of both starters made brought it to the next level! Everything was well balanced and not overwhelming.
The mains especially the deer and the Maxim potato were sumptuous! Nothing else to say except it was perfect!
Loved the sourdough bread, the fluffiest I ever had especially when used to soak up the sauce!
