We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in the area. Highly recommend.
Cheers!
Parking was plentiful. We had reservations, and were given a choice of seating. The service was warm, friendly, and attentive from start to finish, which added to the overall comfort of the visit.
The food was good. We ordered the omelette, the madam croquette, and the Benedict. Everything was solid, the portions were huge, and the potatoes that came with the dishes were especially good.
We also loved the peaceful setting. The outdoor area with fountains and water features was beautiful, and taking a stroll afterward made the whole experience feel even more refreshing. It’s a great way to enjoy the lodge atmosphere without feeling rushed.
Overall, Copperleaf felt like a gem in a surprising location. It was perfect for a low-stimulation brunch with a baby, the service was genuinely friendly, and we’d absolutely come back for another meal and recommend it.
The party we went to was catered by the restaurant and my meal was great. I had a beautifully prepared filet with shrimp, vegetables and mashed potatoes. The steak was done nicely, especially for a large party, probably a little under seasoned, but pretty tasty for a large party. I had the Land and Sea, the shrimp were tasty, but overcooked.
My wife, on the other hand had a risotto, a crab risotto which would have been great except that it was loaded with lima beans. Why in the world would anybody ever put lima beans in a risotto? The salad greens were nice, strange dressing? No tomatoes or anything of that sort, needed some acidity and moisture. Otherwise a great time.
Dinner:
We had a large party and the service staff was amazing and got us seated with last minute adjustments. The clam chowder was not that great. The potatoes were really undercooked and even crunchy. The salmon and burgers were good but the salads were a miss. There wasn’t anything that wowed or stood out much.
Brunch:
Now this is where it gets interesting. We came up after packing getting ready to head out, we went down to get some food. There were no people inside and three couples outside. When we asked for a table, not the host some other girl asks if we have a reservation. I told her no and asked her if we were able to get a table. She goes on on a two minute tangent berating us on how we should have made reservations before coming down because they are very busy. Another server walked up, interrupted her and said that it should not. It should be fine and proceeds to sit us at a table. We had our order taken, and our server was very friendly and gave us all the options. Once the food came, we had no silverware and waited for almost 10 minutes and after nobody coming up or bringing us our silverware, I was able to find some from another table. Now the food was incredible. The eggs Benedict the breakfast sandwich and the avocado toast, all great.
in summary, next time I stay here, I would probably skip out on the dinner, but the breakfast and lunch are definitely worth it even if the service was a mess
The highlight of the evening, though, was inviting a gentleman at the bar to join our table. We bonded over shared interests in food, travel, and drinks, only to later learn that he—Josh—was the restaurant’s executive chef. It was immediately clear how deeply he enjoys his craft: experimenting with flavors, respecting other chefs’ creativity, and continually challenging himself.
Thank you, Josh, for the great conversation—and for indirectly creating the delicious menu we enjoyed that night.
The restaurant staff were incredibly accommodating both times we visited, even at the very end of lunch service and before breakfast officially started. Lunch was the smash burger and the torta, both well-flavored, perfectly cooked, and served with excellent fries. Breakfast was just as memorable, the waitress and cook graciously made us breakfast sandwiches to go so we could catch an early shuttle. They were huge, delicious, and came with perfectly cooked breakfast potatoes.
Huge thanks to the wait staff and kitchen for the flexibility and fantastic meals. We’ll absolutely be back anytime we’re passing through SeaTac, and maybe even just for a Seattle stay.
