Super quiet over 4th of July weekend. We had Chef Anthony all to ourselves and he did not disappoint. Immediately recognized Chef Anthony from another restaurant he worked at. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. You could taste and see how fresh all the ingredients used were. Ended lunch with grapefruit sorbetta that was super refreshing. Will definitely be back to try other dishes. Was told they will start brunch service soon. All the best to you Anthony I hope you have found your happy place.

Woah! Awesome experience at Mercato. We had meatballs and pizza, and I can say, some of the best quality I have had in the suburbs in a while. Our server Luis was attentive and such a professional. I can’t wait to come back, but will probably order delivery from here until then. Highly recommend.

We recently dined at Mercato in Westwood and overall had a very good experience. The food was definitely the highlight. Our appetizers were all excellent, with fresh ingredients and great flavor. For our main courses, we ordered the branzino and the steak—both were prepared very well and cooked nicely. The only slight miss was the pasta, which was a bit overcooked, though still enjoyable.
We’re already planning to return to try their pizza, which looked great coming out of the kitchen.
Service was just okay. The staff seemed a bit inattentive at times, and after clearing our antipasto, they reset the table by placing the flatware directly on the table instead of on a napkin or plate, which felt a little careless for the setting.
Overall, Mercato offers very good food with room for improvement in service. We’re looking forward to another visit.

Excellent Hospitality Service, thanks Maria. She’s very helpful in our online birthday reservation dilemma over the weekend for my family and friends. I’m grateful and so blessed that she went above and beyond for this celebration to happen. Everyone had a superb dining experience. Love, love, love the “out of this world” Roman Pizzas (like Pala Diablo, House-made Sausage & Truffle Potato are a good pizza combo for a big party), the “delish”, super fresh Mercato Caesar Salad to die for and don’t forget the Veal & Ricotta Meatballs for appetizer. For dessert we all shared the 5-star Affogato, the unforgettable Mascarpone Cheesecake and the super-rich Valrhona Chocolate Mousse … all are YUMMMMMY :o)
Did I mention, the restaurant staff were all very accommodating and professional. Love the black & white old films. Very upbeat music as well. Will definitely bring our other relatives next time they visit Jersey. Will surely be back at Mercato Westwood again, can’t wait!

Fantastic Roman Italian food! Very few that actually hit the mark in jersey. We go here often and the food is ALWAYS amazing. We take friends and they love it too. Sebastian is almost always our server and he is always so sweet and attentive. A must for sure!

I placed a Christmas Eve order, had a miscommunication with the order as updated it at a later time, and they were more than understanding & accommodating. So we have been trying to get here for weeks but the online reservation system said there were no tables, several times. So I decided to do takeout. Ordering online was no issue. When I arrived to pick up, the restaurant was EMPTY!! I went in and said are you expecting a rush, the waiter said no, why, I explained the trouble getting a reservation and by then the female manager came by and brought up on the phone what I saw when attempting to make a reservation, her screen on the POS system was as empty as the dining room. I said that may be why you have no one in here and that I have been trying for weeks. So anyway off I go, get home, the salad, should have the dressing on the side as the arugula was very limp when I got home to eat. It was very tasty and delightful combination of ingredients. The margarita pinsa was a bit on the salty side with Jersey Girl mozzarella, I would opt for fresh mozzarella next time. We will try this place again as the pinsa was kind of small, and I was still hungry with nothing left. It seemed that if the restaurant would be full it would be very noisy as it is very open. Let’s see what happens next time.
