Oh my gosh- this place is a hidden treasure! The atmosphere is so cute and inviting! We bought two chicken and two beef empanadas and my husband is already talking about going back to try other fillings! This place is a keeper!!! We can’t wait to go back!

This Industry location has a greater selection of empanadas than the West Covina location. Compared to another empanada spot I went to recently, I like how these are more “bite-sized” empanadas and still super filling.
On average, people order “two to a dozen” empanadas so I tried three. Chicken, beef, and mushroom empanadas. That beef empanada was like biting into a perfect scrumptious beef pot pie. I bought another for the road! Mushroom was not overpowering and earth-y, which is a common descriptor for mushrooms that gets tossed around.
The chicken fajita was good, too, but I can see myself buying a dozen of the beef empanadas! Everything was warm and not too flaky and fit in my hands great.

Really good mini Filipino empanadas. The fillings are very tasty and compliments the crispy pie shell. The bibingkas are good too especially the ube. They give me a free empanada though it was a mistake from me. It’s a nice and sweet gesture from them. I’m coming back!

I tried this place on a whim while looking through Google. The inside is clean and welcoming. I tried the beef, chicken, mushroom and ube empanada as well as the mango smoothie. The empanadas are an interesting shape and look close to a bolo bao on the outside. The beef empanada is the clear winner and would make for an interesting alternative for lunch or breakfast. The chicken filling is similar to pork floss, the mushroom one was a little dry for my liking and the ube one while interesting did not leave a lasting impression with me.

Who doesn’t love empanadas (meat pies)? Seems like each culture has a version and these Filipino ones from Josephine’s are a fine example. Combine that with free samples for a special event and it makes them that much more spectacular. I love the dot system they use to identify each one, but it’s not perfect. I think they are missing one. As you can see from the card on the box, there are four dot combinations, but they have five types so one is missing. No big deal since I was eating most of them on my own 🙂
Flavor wise, the beef and cheese corn were my favorites. The beef is ground and had wonderful flavors. Hard to describe the cheese corn other than it tastes just like it sounds, but very creamy. The tuna was ok and I’m sure there are fans, but just not for me. Tasted very much like tuna casserole in a small bite. The chicken was also very good. I don’t think I got a chicken fajita, even though I ordered one of each on top of the two free ones for the special event (beef and chicken).
Place is super clean and staff very friendly and helpful. This was my first time trying the Filipino version, so had a lot of questions. Love the individual packets of sriracha as well. I put hot sauce on everything, so seeing the sriracha packets on each table was a good sign. Very smart to have the self service water and utensils as well.
I will be back!

The bread of the empanada is mildly sweet and palatable to everybody. The place is neat and organized. I like that every table has an antibacterial gel. I came for the tuna empanada and liked the beef flavor the most. On weekends, they have arroz caldo and Filipino champurado.

Fantastic Empanadas, three is enough to make you full! I’ve tried all their flavors and each one is great. Also had their Ube Latte (very delicious) and I recommend getting the Chimichurri sauce!

After noticing this place while waiting at Starbucks, I decided to give it a try. I was absolutely blown away by the empanadas! I bought the chicken and beef flavors and these are the best I’ve ever had and this is coming from someone who grew up in Manila! The pandan bibingka was delicious as well. The food was bursting with flavor and I can’t wait to come back and try their other flavors of empanada and bibingkas 🙂
Also, grab the chimichurri sauce! It’s pairs well with empanadas, and especially the beef!

My first time trying empanadas, it is excellent. Flavour and texture from the filling to the shell are perfectly blended. The size is easy to eat, they are freshly made and baked, not from frozen. It is perfect for quick breakfast in office with my tea. Definitely will buy more for breakfast.

Was looking for a place to get lunch after coming to the Frank and Sons collectible show. This place is nearby and tried their beef empanada and chicken empanada and honestly i can’t even pick between the two, both are really good
The fillings on them are saucy and not dry. Did not get raisins on the beef one but the chicken has it. Not a big fan of raisins on empanadas but those place does it well, the raisins sweetness doesn’t overpower the chickens flavor
