The Coffman Review

Last week we had cousins visiting and we stopped by Summertime Scoops with the kids for ice cream!

With walk-up service we ordered a variety of ice cream cones, floats, milkshakes, and even some french fries and onion rings. While we waited, the kids took pictures at the “pizza wings” mural painted on the side of the pizzeria.

With ice cream in hand we sat at the outdoor tables underneath a covered awning. My peanut butter milkshake was excellent. Not only was it the perfect ratio of creamy peanut butter to vanilla ice cream, but it also struck the ideal consistency— thick, but not so thick as to clog the straw. Others had similarly positive notes.

If you’re ever passing through Fairland, don’t blink, and pull off the road at Cutting Edge Pizzeria and Summertime Scoops to enjoy dinner and dessert.

My son had a banana split which he assured me was the best he had ever had. So it seems the shop’s specialty is indeed just that!

On my next visit I want to try the food menu. A gentleman sat near us and was eating the bratwurst and it looked really good. Another table had a nice young lady trying the deep fried , she seemed to really enjoy it.

Came and got a sundae here. It was really good, and service was great.

Saw people eating a tenderloin, and loaded tots. I asked them if it was good and they said it was amazing. Can’t wait to come back and try a tenderloin here.

The service is amazing. Second time we have came. Our kids enjoyed the kids meals. The serving sizes are good. We each got ice cream and all the flavors were good. It is real hand dipped ice cream. If you prefer soft serve or custard, it may not be for you.

I have to say the owner is tentative, kind, and overall a pleasure. The other workers are also happy to be there.

I had a breaded tenderloin. It is actually so juicy and delicious. 5 stars.

My wife and I went for ice cream last night and we had great experience. I had some salted caramel toffee ice cream and it was delicious. My wife was actually able to request a dairy free ice cream and they had it . We sat at the tables and ended up chatting with the owner and others who had come for ice cream. They also have burgers and fries and the breaded tenderloin is legendary. I see this spot as a very comfortable gathering place for folks to come to get great food and enjoy our community of Fairland. I highly recommend this stop for food and friends.

My husband and I stopped in for ice cream last week and were pleasantly surprised! I typically don’t look forward to going to ice cream shops because if they have anything dairy free, it is always sorbet or some type of soft serve. Summertime Scoops, however, had a hand dipped dairy free vanilla ice cream that actually tasted like real ice cream My husband got salted Carmel toffee flavor and he said it was one of the best ice cream flavors he had ever had. We will definitely be back! The folks there were super nice and friendly and I hear their food is very good as well. It’s nice to have a place like this in Fairland. If you haven’t tried it, check it out! Next time I go I’ll add pictures!
