One of the most “hidden secret” places close to Hartfield Atlanta airport that you should go to eat really great food. Its only open on the weekend, but if you want some fantastic Caribbean food, this is the spot. I only took away the one star because its only open on the weekend so more people who are in town staying close to the airport during the week wont be able to try this spot. But if you are around the area on the weekend, definitely go!!!

I randomly came across this restaurant while in the area. It’s tucked away, kind of easy to overlook, and not very close to much foot traffic, but if you find it man, what a treat!
The space is just big enough to pop in and grab your food and be on your way.
The ladies working were sooooo sweet and welcoming. There were a good number of options to choose from (see menu pic) but for me, the ultimate test is how good your oxtails are. And let me be clear, they did not disappoint at all! And my container was piled high!
And the ginger lemonade was delicious and refreshing!
Please visit and check these ladies out!

Where do I begin? I was on my lunch break looking for something filling & tasted like home. I came across V’s Taste of 700 Islands & decided to at least go to the restaurant and see what the atmosphere was like. (Looking online at the menu, I was already sold.) I’d never had Oxtails, but I’ve always wanted to try them, so why not now? Well once my girlfriend & I get to the restaurant, we were greeted very warmly & welcoming by a woman with a great smile. Turns out she’s the owner & chef. We all got along as though we’ve known each other forever, although we just met. I’d never had oxtails before, but I’ve always wanted to try them. We ordered a large plate of oxtails with gravy & rice. For our sides, we got greens & an extra side order of baked macaroni and cheese. She showed us the plate, & we were very impressed. She insisted we try a little at that moment, & when we did, INSTANT satisfaction hit my heart. We quickly paid so we could dive in. We sat at the table she has outside & went at it. For a full 10 minutes nothing was said because we were stuffing our faces. I can only imagine how we looked to anyone who happened to be passing by or anything… We planned on saving a bit for later, but with how the meal tasted, that was IMPOSSIBLE. We cleaned the whole plate in a matter of minutes. The oxtails were tender & seasoned to perfection. The gravy had beans in it, a plus because I love beans, & wasn’t too thick, nor was it watery. The rice was cooked to perfection, fluffy & flavorful. Those greens were definitely cooked from scratch, & made with love. Oh my goodness the baked macaroni was so delicious. Not dry, over baked or overstuffed with cheese. We went back in to let her know we had finished (that fast smh) lol she was tickled at our reactions to this meal. I 1000% recommend Ms. Vera’s restaurant- V’s Taste of 700 Islands. I haven’t live out in Georgia long, but this is the very first time I’ve had an experience as this since I’ve been out here. The food was fantastic & the customer service was excellent. Thank you Ms. Vera. We will be back soon!

i cannot rate this any higher! V is an absolute delight and every last bite is delicious. she was out of ribs so i’ll have to get those next time. i got jerk wings which were fall off the bone baked wings. i love all styles of jerk, i like that her blend isn’t overly sugary. another highlight is the cabbage, i never thought to put diced red and yellow bell peppers, it lifts it beautifully.
the portions are beyond generous – i tipped over 50% when i saw the bang for my buck, and i’ll do it again next time.
since this location is off of main st and can be hidden from foot traffic, i feel like i’m in on a little secret, but i want it to thrive so i will spread the word to all my neighbors. thank you V!

Happen to be walking by and saw they were open gave a try and was not disappointed. Gave a lot of food for just $14 (before tip)
I was too late to get the mac & cheese, but I was able to get turkey wing, rice and peas, plantains and cabbage.
Flavorful but not salty and you see my end result will definitely be back when I’m in the shop on Fridays.

Ms Vera was amazing! I got the salmon. It was so good that I didn’t even heat up the leftovers, I ate it cold. If you want the ox tails you better get it in the morning or you are going to miss out.

I’m able to get my weekend Caribbean fix in College Park. I ordered oxtails and they were tender and falling off the bone.
The Mac and cheese was a good texture.
The plantain had the perfect mix of sweet and savory.
The Ginger Lemonade is super spicy and is great after putting it in the freezer too!
The chicken salad is good for people that like robust flavors and an assortment of ingredients like fruits and vegetables. Everything tasted fresh and healthy.
I’ve had the hot and spicy chicken wings before and the sauce was amazing.
The staff is super kind and the portions are a good value for the price. The menu has lots of options. I hope they expand their days of operation beyond Fri-Sat. I always leave there happy and ready to try another item.
