Wow, a nice canto/HK style restaurant in Davis! They moved to this new location (previously village bakery) and I got to try it this week.

Surprisingly delicious! I went to Tim’s before they moved a few years ago and I didn’t like it. But I feel like they are way better now. The steak and rice was super flavorful, and the price is quite good <$15. They also have a lot of to-go orders and they had a good number of people in during lunch.

A personal favorite is the bittermelon and beef. It was perfectly well done, and that’s not an easy dish to perfect!

The interior is large and spacious and has nice decor. It’s quiet and has nice modern feel to it. Parking can be a bit of a pain, but overall not too bad.

Can’t wait to try their other dishes- but the steak (with black sauce) and rice is a must try, and also try the bittermelon beef! Enjoy!!

Amazing prices and even better food portions. The flavor is amazing as well. It was our first time here so we did not know what to expect. Definitely worth the try! Will be back for more

Visited on a Friday night. Not busy. I ordered the Crispy pork belly rice plate 脆皮烧肉饭 and Green Bean with garlic sauce 蒜茸四季豆. It totaled to about $22.

The food was better than average. The portions are sizeable; with the two dishes I ordered, it could easily feed two.
The green beans with garlic sauce was pretty good. I can see why a restaurant like this would/is doing well in a college town like Davis.

The service was direct and no nonsense. If you order a plate, it comes with a drink. They’re happy to get you anything if you get their attention.

The atmosphere is pretty standard for a Chinese restaurant; the decor is the same, they have a TV playing dramas, etc. The only thing I have to bring into question is their cleanliness. The silverware I had received was visibly dirty… Staff was happy to replace it of course.

Would I come back here to eat again?
Probably not. Despite the food being reasonably priced, portions large, and the food tasting decent, for Chinese food, I wasn’t blown away enough to want to come back. (And of course, the cleanliness factor plays a huge part… makes me think what ISN’T clean that we can’t see…)

3 out of 5 rice plates.

New menu, more options that include more Cantonese style dishes as well as the Hong Kong baked dishes. Most of the dishes come with a free soda or honey lemon tea. Greeted when walked in and was able to sit anywhere we like.

The baked dishes are a classic Hong Kong style dish. Although it takes a bit of time, it has good portions and it is delicious. ($11.50 – $12.95)

The appetizer is very reasonable priced, so you’re able to get a variety of things, from scallion pancakes to chicken wings to vegetables. The place is super spacious, it is clean. With their new updated menu, there are many options to satisfy everyone!

Very yummy comfort food for a great price! I ate the unagi don and it had egg, broccoli, and a generous amount of sauce on it which is what I love. You get a very generous portion for what you’re paying and can easily have one bowl/plate to feed two people or to save for another meal later. The place is clean and I have no issues with the service. There were some issues with them serving the wrong thing and then having to go back but I didn’t mind. Each plate/bowl also comes with either a free soda or iced honey lemon tea which perfectly quenched my thirst. The fried tofu appetizer was also very good looking forward to coming here again

Would recommend if you want a delicious, cheap meal.

This place is very cheap with massive portions. It’s good for closer friends who like homestyle Chinese food who you don’t need to impress.

Because it is fusion it does tend to be a little sweeter, but it has overall good flavors. The tomato and egg had a lot of green onion, perfect heat on the eggs, and green beans had good bite. Meat quality was normal in all the dishes, really good considering the price.

Chinese pastas have never been my thing, but if you enjoy that category these are nice. A lot of meat and sauce. For me it’s always too monotonous in texture and lacking in flavor.

Food came out when it finished cooking so you had food almost immediately. I went on a Saturday 2pm, it was almost the only place open, and it was quite empty. Server was pleasant.

Once upon a time, this neighborhood was a culinary desert where college students survived on instant noodles and existential dread. Fast-forward a decade, and behold — a place that actually serves edible food. Miracles do happen.

The food? Pretty solid for the price. Not Michelin, but at least your wallet won’t file for bankruptcy. The servers are friendly — suspiciously so — as if they’re hiding the fact that the ice machine’s broken again. The vibe is chill, probably because everyone’s too full or too broke to move fast. The crowd’s a mix of college students avoiding adulthood and the occasional family pretending they’re “trying something local.”

Overall: good bang for your buck, especially if your definition of “bang” includes carbs, comfort, and the faint scent of procrastination.

This restaurant placed a plastic sauce bag directly inside my food container, touching the hot meat and rice. This shows a lack of even basic food hygiene awareness.

When I called to raise this concern, there was not a single apology, and the staff hung up on me.

Ignoring basic hygiene and treating customers this way is unacceptable.

If you’re looking for unhygienic food handling and rude, arrogant customer service, this is the place.
