We sat outside and had a great view of the sea while eating our lunch. We ordered the sampler for two and the octopus plate: The lobster was good, the shrimp was tasty, and the octopus had nice flavor, though it could have used a bit more char. The fish sticks were on the dry side, but the soup, stuffed bread, and refried beans were all enjoyable.

Been going to Villa Ortega’s for at least 20 years. I usually order steak and lobster and tortilla soup. Their cream cheese bread is so good hard not to stop eating them before my main entre is served. This place is cash only. Highly recommend when making that drove south of the border.

Although I waited way too long in the season to go down and have my annual lobster, you can’t go wrong. Going to Ortega’s. The atmosphere right on the beach service. The quality of the food, the attention the Mariachis playing all over the place. It’s just a great place to go and have lobster Puerto Nuevo’s best

This place is a joke! Food was disgusting
Lobster hard, rubbery, and no flavor at all! waiter Frank was rude and needs better customer service skills! All staff there are snobby and rude. Also it smelled like sewage the whole time we were trying to eat. Don’t recommend at all.

When it comes to good seafood, this is a good spot for it! The portion sizes are quite generous and probably give you the most value for money. The staff are friendly and helpful.
This place can get busy so arrive before the lunch/dinner rush. Important to note – CASH only. There are ATM’s nearby.

We’ve been coming to Puerto nuevo for years; ever since I was younger with my family and siblings and we’ve always found different spots to eat lobster since we always heard of this spot (although being the best was supposed to be really expensive) but let me tell you it IS THE BEST SPOT HERE!

Price-wise; It’s not much more than the other restaurants and the quality is just amazing! Everything from the lobster to the sides and the flour tortillas are all great! They have a very extensive menu and you can see inside the kitchen as they cook everything up. They have a very nice ocean view and several seating areas both inside and out; they also have a bar area and plenty of ocean-view tables with heaters. The service is very quick and we honestly could not be happier; we will be coming here when in Puerto nuevo from now on!

This town has a tourist area of 2 blocks of shops and lobster restaurants. This restaurant has very good food, atmosphere, service, and views.
We were seated at a table overlooking the ocean. We had steak and lobster combos and mahi mahi fish, and a couple of beers. Chips and great salsas to start us off plus a tortilla soup. Total was under $100 US or under $2000 mxn. I would not say this is expensive unless you are comparing it to a little Taco stand.

Waiter was awesome and helpful. 3 different bands came by looking for tips to play live music.

Food was so good. Beans were the best. Lobster is king in this town.

Parking may be an issue but they tell you where to go. We had no wait Sat 3pm

We had lunch there on Tuesday Feb 17th during our visit to Tijuana. We took a private car and went there largely because we were told having a lobster meal in Puerto Nuevo was a must. Ortega was recommended by our Mexican driver.

We ordered their signature dish that was prominently advertised in the postings in the restaurant. It contained lobster plus fried breaded fish filet, grilled octopus, bacon wrapped shrimp, breaded fried shrimp and boiled shrimp.

We paid $200 (US $) for the lunch for 3 people. They accepted only cash.

The lobsters were not fresh. They had gone bad. I know very well how to tell the difference because I live in San Francisco Bay area and eat lobster frequently in Chinese restaurants and purchase them from Chinese grocery stores.

In short we had a bad and expensive lunch. I confronted the waiter and his manager (I suppose) but they didn’t seem to care.

Villa Ortagas has a view so good, you’ll forget the food is just decent. Atmosphere is top notch. Bring your girl here–trust me, you’ll go home a hero. Villa Oryegas isn’t just dinner, it’s an investment for a freaky night.
