We were greeted by a nice man and immediately sat. Our orders were taken immediately, and we asked for recommendations, and they gladly told us some ideas of what to order.
While the food was waiting, they brought us some yellow lentil soup on the house and boy was it amazing. Tasting like a mixture of your grandmother’s favorite pea soup mixed with your family’s favorite chicken soup recipe I mean this stuff was incredible.
The food came out fresh and steaming and since it was Valentine’s Day They brought me and my wife to complementary Valentine’s Day drinks on the house, which I believe were sparkling, red sodas of some sort, and they were delicious.
This has got to be our new favorite spot in Kent. It’s a little off the beaten path, but take the time come into that plaza and take a look you won’t be sorry.
Instead of getting the combo for that price, he said the only way was to order separately and pay separately without the drink. How stupid…I decided to try it and for $10.00, there were only 3 felafels in the sandwich and it’s mostly bread. I got a free soup and there’s no mention of soup nor did I ask for it. Why couldn’t I have added fries and a drink for $4.99 instead of paying $17.00 without the drink? I don’t know if the person didn’t speak English well or was just pretending so they didn’t have to respond to a customer.
Now I know why this place is empty.
For the restaurant…it’s “combo” as in “combination”.
It’s not “Campo” like on the menu…The word is not “campination”.
Recommending for you guys should try this family dish, friendly staff, a nice place for dining.
It took me a bit of searching as we were driving home to find this place because there is so much amazing Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food in Kent. But there they were: lamp chops—meat on the bone.
Their website did not render very well on my iPhone and I could not see the menu in Chrome. We ended up ordering through Ubereats, which I get the feeling might not contain their full menu because the photo of their in-restaurant menus seemed larger than online.
I got 5 lamb chops. My husband got a selection of grilled meats on sticks, including chicken and beef chunks and a couple of kofta kebabs. Both came with a huge portion of rice, hummus, pickled and grilled vegetables, and salads. I thought that’d we wouldn’t get enough, so I ordered some baba ganouj too. When we went to pick the order up, the place was cheerful and brightly decorated. It looked clean and quite charming with the photos from Iraq from the early 1960s, almost straight out of old tourism brochures. It wasn’t very busy, but everyone there seemed cool.
I was shocked by this grocery bag the man handed me. The kitchen could barely staple it shut—it was so full. Even though we were really hungry and we can eat a lot, neither one of us finished all the food. The grilled meats were juicy and well-seasoned, My husband had to go find some toum for his kofta kebabs, mostly because he likes garlic sauces, but also because he didn’t get any sauces with all his meatball skewers. My lamb chops were thinly sliced but not overcooked or dry. The baba was chunkier than I have ever had it before, but made with real eggplants. The baba was served with samoon, instead of pita, which tasted fine and held up to scooping up chunky eggplant. We went to bed with food coma. The portions were quite generous.
Our general feeling is that we definitely would eat there again. I think the culinary experience would be different in person. I may need to invite a friend who knows Arabic to help translate the entire menu though.
The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring I had everything I needed without being intrusive. They offered recommendations and made me feel welcomed.
Food
Cheeseburger The burger was juicy and cooked to perfection. The patty was flavorful, and the cheese melted beautifully. Topped with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and a tangy sauce, it was a delightful twist on a classic.
Fries: The fries were crispy and golden, seasoned just right. They complemented the burger well and were a great addition to the meal.
Overall Experience
• While I went in expecting traditional Mediterranean fare, the cheeseburger exceeded my expectations. It was a delicious fusion that showcased the restaurant’s culinary versatility.
Recommendation
If you’re in the mood for something different in a Mediterranean setting, I highly recommend trying the cheeseburger. Pair it with their refreshing house salad for a balanced meal.
Overall, Mediterranean Delights is worth a visit for its unique offerings and delightful atmosphere! ✨
