My husband & I have not been to this restaurant in almost 7 years. Long gone is the soft music, white tablecloths, & candlelight. Today the restaurant is filled with the screams of toddlers, bare tables with coffee house chairs, and overhead lighting. The service was the best part of this visit. The food was average, not as flavorful as days past. We left knowing we could prepare a better meal at home for far less money.

This was my 2nd time at Arugula Ristorante & it was very good. All 3 of us liked our entree. Also like that it is a BYOB. For a Tuesday night the restaurant was busy. The only downside I want to share is our server was not present once we placed our order. He never came back to the table to ask about our meals & if we needed anything else. All other staff members were very present & attentive. I will definitely be back as it is a perfect location for meeting friends from Delaware County.

Great time with friends for lunch. The food was delicious, the service was perfect (perfectly attentive) and the atmosphere was great (the restaurant was modern, comfortable and very clean). I will definitely go back.

The service was great. I was running a few minutes behind, I called ahead and they were totally understanding. They offered to seat my party before I arrived. There was plenty of free parking. Once inside we were greeted by the server right away. It’s BYOB so the server quickly uncorked the bottles and started pouring for us, took and orders & the food came out pretty quickly. We all enjoyed our meals. The watermelon salad was one of the specials of the night and was so refreshing. I enjoyed my scallop dish, just wish I had more scallops or less risotto. Desert options were plenty and delicious.

We had a pleasant experience at dinner, we were seated quickly and the service was attentive. The food was well seasoned, cooked well and seemed fresh.
I had risotto for the first time so I have nothing to compare to, but it wasn’t bad it just wasn’t very flavorful. The spinach seemed fresh and you could tell there was fresh garlic in it. My husband had a vodka sauce in his pasta dish which was wonderful. *edit* I see a review from a year ago, customer got risotto and commented that it was good but he wished it had more scallops…he shared a photo of his dish which had 5 scallops. My dish last night had 4 scallops…
We both agreed that it wasn’t a bad experience, the food was good but we won’t be back. Its pricy for the portions you get. The entres were smallish(sufficiently sized, not generously sized. ) The salad was embarrassingly small, it was seasoned well, just absurdly tiny for the price. We were just in ocean Grove nj and had a much bigger, comparablely seasoned salad for much less (though at the beach you would assume it would be more)
Personal thought; it would be nice to have cheese at the table. They hand serve (spoon serve the grated parmesan from a dish of grated cheese) the parmesan cheese right after bringing out the entres, when you haven’t had the chance to taste your food to see if it would need more or less cheese. My entre would have been better with extra cheese but they only come around once.
We both agreed we weren’t mad at dinner, but there wasn’t enough spark to woo us back for a second try. That’s ok, we’re glad we tried it.

Had my daughters baby shower here, very accommodating, bright airy place, staff took care of all our needs. Granted we supplied all baby shower products but they took care of food etc. From helping with beverages(carafe for wine) cutting cake, helping with set up.

Meh. I don’t enjoy writing sub-optimal reviews, but I was pretty underwhelmed by my dining experience here. I came in with a large group so I can’t say that others in my party would also agree with my assessment, but I know that my husband was also somewhat disappointed by the food here. My pasta dish was under-salted and of the appetizers that I tried, they seemed a bit messy and overcompensated with cheese. The calamari was also a bit tough. I enjoyed my caramel cheesecake for dessert, but it did not taste homemade, which would have been better IMO. Others may not agree, but I think there are so many better Italian restaurants in the Philly area, though I guess there is less competition in the suburbs. Service was great though, so that’s a point in their favor!

What a great local BYOB with a friendly and attentive staff. Arugula is always a treat. From apps to dessert, the food is fresh and delicious. They always have some specials so keep that in mind before deciding on an entree. Always worth the visit. Thanks for another great meal!

Very disappointed. Very noisy. Garish lighting. Chicken parm, overcooked (blackened on bottom).
Had to flag wait person down for everything. With some tweaks, this could be a really nice place. (maybe fewer tables?) To be somewhat fair, it was NYE…
