We stopped here after reading a few positive reviews from people in a Facebook foodie group.

The pepper jack crab soup is fantastic. It’s rich, creamy and had lots of crab in it.

I had a burger in special. It was a burger with BBQ sauce, onion rings, cheddar cheese and ham. The burger was perfectly cooked. I got the sweet potatoe fries with their house made marshmallow dip. I liked the dip, though it is very sweet.

My wife had their Southwest chicken salad. The chicken was tender and perfectly cooked. It’s definitely not the pre cooked diced chicken you get at lots of places. The salad was tasty, though it could’ve had a bit more of the black beans and corn in it.

Overall we were pleased. The service was fantastic, prompt and friendly. The food came out quickly even though it was a busy Saturday afternoon.

Service was good food was awful. Got the cowboy salad, the steak was all fat and the lettuce was mostly brown. Was not worth $20 also paid $9 for “seasoned fries” with just salt and pepper. I can understand why the place was empty.

my sister and i ordered a seafood basket, 2 very large pieces of fried fish and 5 large shrimp to share. it came with sweet potato fries and coleslaw. we ordered an extra side of coleslaw. quantity of food was very generous. service was excellent. coleslaw was good. the shrimp was ok. the fish and the fries were fried to the point of only being able to eat the center of the fish, the fries were inedible. they charged $6 for the extra side of coleslaw. first and last time at the courthouse pub

I really wanted to like this place, but the food and overall experience fell short for me.

We ordered the steak appetizer with garlic bread. The bread had an odd taste and texture, and the steak was extremely tough, chewy, and fatty. I actually had to spit out one bite because it got stuck in my braces. I only managed a bite or two. When my entrée arrived, it turned out to be the same steak, with the same issues – gristly, difficult to cut, and lacking flavor. Unfortunately, I couldn’t eat it.

Our server was friendly and did remove my entrée from the bill, which I appreciate. However, she repeatedly mentioned that we had eaten all of the steak appetizer, which wasn’t accurate. My husband ate most of it; I barely touched mine, so that felt a bit uncomfortable to hear multiple times.

Seating was also an issue. The restaurant says “seat yourself,” and we unknowingly picked a spot where the floor dips. With mobility limitations, it was extremely uncomfortable and difficult to sit there. Clearer guidance would help guests pick a suitable spot.

For the price point, I expected better quality. The menu leans toward the higher end for bar-style food, so the tough steak and lack of flavor were disappointing.

The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff was nice, but based on the food quality, comfort level, and price, I don’t plan on returning.

The fish and chips were not very good. Breading was mealy and low quality. My wife liked her grilled cheese and I ended up eating half of her meal! Sweet potato fries were tasty and came with a sweet dip that was nice. This place also adds a fee for using a credit card, which I feel is a cost of doing business. Will not be back.

It was our first time swinging in for a meal even though we’ve lived in the area for 10 years now, though not in Mason. We were pleased that it wasn’t too loud or too busy on a Friday at 6 pm. Our server was prompt, friendly, helpful, and made the entire meal really great. We had wings and nachos, and both hit the spot.

Food is good, portions are reasonable the price is very unreasonable for a small town pub. Two salads, one appetizer ($14), and two lemonades with tip $74. With that kind of cost, better to find a restaurant with an entree and a couple drinks before spending this kind of money on ( bar food). Will not return.

Such a dynamic bar. It’s like a mix of a dive bar and a sports bar. Not a huge spirit collection but have the essentials. The beer on tap is pretty good though. They have a fairly robust menu and the food I got was pretty good. Service was quick and cordial. Would recommend.
