Parker is truly a delight and one of the best mixologists behind a bar in San Antonio. Everything comes together perfectly for a fun, relaxing, and calm speak easy atmosphere, the music, lighting, decor. This is my personal favorite bar in San Antonio. I really can’t recommend it enough.

Atmosphere: 7/10
Truly a speakeasy experience – not easy to find entrance and requirement of a password (which is unique to every reservation). Inside is designed like a cozy living room with different seating areas. Because of the inconvenient location – far from the city center and adjacent to a barn restaurant – the crowd is not very fun/diverse. Mostly older folks. Only couple seats at the bar and simple backbar. Pleasant slow blues playing in the background
Drinks: 6/10
Recommendation: Electric Sheep
Small cocktail menu, but with some interesting recipes. Presentation, glassware and garnish are very simple. The taste of the cocktails was good. No coasters
Service: 7.5/10
Super friendly staff. Water served on arrival. Prices are average for San Antonio
Also, the “German pretzel” does not taste like a real German pretzel (hard shell, soft inside). But it tastes decent. Why not just call it “Pretzel”?

First time at a Speakeasy. Great place to converse and be heard without speaking loudly. Great atmosphere is a small private bar with great appetizers and specialty cocktails. There are only 4 areas to sit comfortably in a super eclectic place which gives you privacy and a very warm setting. There is also a small bar area if you want to be alone.

You’re only allowed to visit if you reserve and get a confirmed password. Hidden behind Barn Door, opened only certain days out of the week, and only allowed 2 hours to enjoy.
As you walk inside, you are greeted with a huge smile and a sampled glass of their featured cocktail. The bartenders are highly knowledgeable, and for the most part, their syrup mixers are made from scratch. That’s impressive!
The ambiance is quiet and intimate. Perfect for a date night. I highly recommend to experience it for yourself at least once.

I went to RD Hidden Speakeasy expecting a normal smart-casual bar atmosphere. To my surprise the ambiance and vibe was far from ordinary. The secret password and lack of door handle upon walking in instantly made this place feel unique. There were very few people for a Friday night which gave my party a much more intimate setting for the evening. The cocktails were delicious and seemed to be things we had not tried before. The food was an excellent pairing. I would highly recommend coming here as I know I will be retuning.

Drinks were so well made. The ones we had were super well balanced and easy to drink, but the bartenders were the best part. They listened to our preferences and recommended things off the menu. I can’t even say which drinks were good – just let them know what drinks you do/don’t like and they’ll work up some magic!
They only had 3 appetizers when we went and 2/3 were amazing. Our favorite was by far the German pretzel – it was so warm and fluffy. It was sooooo soft and perfectly delicious on its own. It came with mustard but we aren’t big mustard fans so we skipped that. The shrimp corn dogs were so unexpected as well – the shrimp on the inside was huge and juicy and the corn dog breading was so thick. The quail knots were ok – they were a little dry for us but still fun bite sized food
The service was great and honestly, we had a great time here. There was only space for ~7 parties and it was a relatively small, but not cramped space. It wasn’t loud, very relaxed and I didn’t feel rushed at all.
The kitchen does close at 9, so make sure you order your snacks before then!

We never got an emailed password – but we got in nonetheless. Ambiance is like a time warp to the eighties in a very simple nostalgic way. Original cocktails are definitely worth trying. Well balanced. Intimate and great to converse. Hope to be back soon.
