DJ’s Clam Shack was created in late 2009 when two lower keys restaurateurs decided to combine years of experience to create easily accessible fresh seafood on Duval St. in Key West. The newly formed partnership was steeped in rich northeast seafood tradition, one partner hailing from Ipswich, Massachusetts the other from Blue Point, New York. Mix in over forty years of living, fishing and working the Florida keys, with its variety and incredible bounty of seafood, a recipe for success begins to emerge. The partners agreed that bringing traditional northern and southern sea fare together would interest people but they would have to combine only freshest and highest quality ingredients and find a way to keep prices reasonable. Mahi mahi tacos were really good! It’s a small place but the food is quality and people were super friendly. Huge portion for the quality/price. The flavor was sweet/tangy and I appreciated the blend of flavors with the white fish. The people around us were devouring their food.

When you first walk up, it kind of looks like a hole in the wall. It’s very deceiving. The food is out of this world. I had the seafood sampler.. Shrimp, Mahi, and conch fritters ( We have been all through the Islands. I think these are the best conch fritters we’ve ever had).
They are really known for their lobster rolls. Rated the best in tampa bay. Unfortunately, they were very expensive. I believe they were $57 each. That’s a little bit more than I wanted to spend for lunch lol. Everything else in the menu was reasonable.
We will definitely be back and hopefully the lobster rolls will drop in market price next visit. So we can try them.

The fried shrimp was amazing! Fish and chips as well, but the star of the show was the LOBSTER ROLL!!! PACKED with lobster and flavor, fresh, and buttery. The best roll I’ve ever had. The atmosphere of the restaurant was chill, everything was made perfect. Yummy place!

The clams were great! The clam chowder was Amazing! Service was great too & servers were friendly. The restaurant was clean & atmosphere was cool. This restaurant is counter-service ordering, then they bring the food out to your table. Maybe a tad overpriced for the amount of food.

Delicious lobster roll! It was cooked perfectly and placed on a delicious toasted roll. We ordered the hot lobster roll for dine in along with sweet potato fries which came with a delicious honey mustard sauce. Everything was delightful!!!Staff were super friendly!

My husband and I were on vacation passing thru and I found this place searching for seafood. OMG everything we ordered was absolutely delicious!!!! We ordered the Lobster Roll, Clam Chowder and the Seafood threesome. Each dish was tasty and seasoned to perfection. We chatted with the owners and their hospitality was top tier. They were so friendly and helpful especially the brother explaining the menu to us. It’s a day later and I’m still thinking about the food especially the Lobster Roll. Will most definitely be back next year.

My wife, our newborn, and I had a enjoyable experience at this place in Indian Shores. The fried shrimp with French fries were crisp and satisfying, the grilled garlic shrimp roll was fresh, flavorful, and generously filled, and the small pod of chowder was rich and well-balanced. All the ingredients were exceptionally fresh. If you’re looking for high-quality seafood in a no-frills, laid-back setting, this is the place to go.

DJ’s Clam Shack was fantastic. My wife and I shared the overstuffed lobster roll and shrimp po’boy, both were absolutely incredible. The lobster roll was overflowing with fresh, buttery lobster, easily one of the best we’ve ever had. The shrimp po’boy was perfectly crispy and full of flavor. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and made to perfection. A must-visit!
