Ps. Wasabi is great!
We had a reservation at 8pm, and from the very beginning, things felt off. We waited 15 minutes just to receive the menus, which was already unusual. Later, after ordering one starter and two main courses, only one main course was brought to the table. At first we thought the second dish was simply delayed, but after another 15 minutes we asked, only to be told (after yet another wait) that the server had misunderstood and thought we had ordered only one dish. Mistakes happen — that’s not the problem. What shocked me is how it was handled afterwards.
When we asked if they could still prepare the missing main, we were told it would take 20 minutes — which we accepted without issue. But then, the chef decided it was no longer possible since it was “the end of service.” So we were left with one starter and one main to share between two people, as if this was completely normal. No alternative offered, no gesture of goodwill, no real apology — simply the suggestion that nothing could be done.
It is such a shame, because the food itself was very good, truly high quality. But the way the situation was managed was baffling, and it felt as if the responsibility was quietly shifted onto us. To sit in a restaurant, pay, and leave with half a meal is an experience I never imagined possible.
A restaurant can make mistakes, but what defines its value is how those mistakes are handled. Here, unfortunately, the answer was: not at all. And for that reason, I will not be returning.
Also when i came in i got free spicy tuna bite.
The flavors are very strong so i would advise to get matcha (and wait with it until food come) to counter it. It goes well together 😀
The atmosphere in the restaurant was decent, not overly remarkable, but it met the mark. The furniture was tasteful and simple, although the limited space between tables didn’t exactly set the stage for an intimate dining affair. Due to the open kitchen concept there was a faint scent of food in the whole restaurant. This did not bother us, but there was a subtle aroma on our jackets after the visit.
The service staff was very attentive and stealthy attended to every need. We felt well taken care of.
Now, to the star of the evening: the burger. My wife had the Mount Fuji and I chose the Tsukimi Burger along with the Volcano Fries. Both burgers proved to be exceptional, creating a delightful symphony of flavours. I’ve never encountered a burger with such finely tuned taste before.
Despite the minor setbacks in the atmosphere, we can definitely recommend the place.
Its still really a restaurant that focusses on the looks of the dishes. But the taste is still great. So it means they probably changed their chef. Because I had the unagi handroll and the steamed buns. And all tasted really great.
I will be back a next time to try the okonomiyaki again and other dishes.
They also did a vegetarian version, off menu, for my wife which was great.
We also enjoyed the cold house Sake, and sweet apple gyoza for dessert.
Friendly service. Definitely one you need to book for.
