Burke Street Pizza has been a part of the fabric of Downtown Winston-Salem since early 2003. Started by a native New Yorker, this neighborhood pizzeria has won numerous awards, including Best Pizzeria (10 Years Straight!) and Best Late Night Food. Due to great demand, we’ve added another store on Robinhood Road. And we’ve maintained our close-knit team atmosphere which will make you feel welcome every time you stop in for your slice of New York-style pizza!

I’d come back here again if only for broccoli on pizza!! I do wish some of the florets and ricotta lumps had been more bite sized, but I understand chopping up frozen broccoli isn’t always an easy feat nor is scooping ricotta from a tub, and the pizza was still great! My only complain is the garlic knots; I’ve never had wetter garlic knots, it was like biting into a sponge soaked in old garlic butter. My family loves any type of buttery bread anything but none of us found these palatable. I’d never order the garlic knots again, but the pizza is delicious with exciting topping combinations that are hard to find elsewhere.

Burke Street Pizza is a classic neighborhood pizza joint, nothing more and nothing less. The interior is dark and dated, which, while not terribly appealing, adds to its bona fides. In addition to pizza, the menu includes fried apps, wings, salads, and hot and cold sandwiches. The availability of grandma pies – a Long Island delicacy – was a pleasant surprise.
I ordered an Italian sandwich and a veggie slice to go. Both were prepared quickly, and while I wouldn’t call service here friendly, it is efficient. The food proved to be fairly satisfying albeit with room for improvement. The sandwich came stuffed with meats (Genoa salami/pepperoni/ham) and veggies though the oil and vinegar was barely discernible. The pizza slice was appreciably huge. Burke Street uses good-quality cheese and a nice sauce as well although the crust isn’t as remarkable. As with other places, for specialty slices, they toss on toppings and re-heat, which means that said toppings don’t get as cooked as long as they ideally should be. Presumably, a whole pie would offer a better texture.
Ultimately, Burke Street pizza proved more serviceable than sensational. You could do a lot worse if a pizza craving hits, but don’t expect to be blown away.

The best New York style pizza in the city. Fresh and hit and big just like in NYC. The staff is always friendly and welcoming and everything is made to order. I would give this place 10 stars. They have really good salads and the wings are big and juicy.

I like Burke Street Pizza a lot, the sandwiches are almost always great and the slices are truly phenomenal. I usually get the steak and cheese burke street style and it is my go to sandwich in the area. I had to take off a star though due to an experience I had where I ordered my sandwich and then I watched as the person making the sandwiches made them with their bare hands and no gloves. I somewhat understand making pizza without gloves prior to putting it in the 400+ degree oven but ready to eat food like vegetables on a sandwich should always be handled with clean gloves. Overall though the food tastes great and I never have to wait long for it either.

Usually we get a basic cheese pie and some sort of meat combo. Tried the Ultimate Veggie today and it was one of the BEST pizzas I’ve ever had. So flavorful and tangy! Amazing.❤️

One of my lunch favorites! The price is fair, the slices are massive and the food is made to order quickly. Kids love it! Buyer beware: when you order entire pizza, slices are “normal” size! Garlic knots are out of this world and Voodoo Chicken pizza is a local classic.

First time stopping at this location, usually by the other one. Nice to find its the same great pizza, service. Clean dining area, restrooms. Staff very nice. Quick turn around on the order, large pep light sauce. I’m a fan of consistent and both locations deliver a great product.

We’ve been all over and had pizza at all the places. Burke Street is perfect. The crust is the exact right thickness and so crispy. The sauce has perfect tang and the pepperonis and cheese are fantastic. Perfect pizza for lunch, dinner, and even great the next day at breakfast.
