I really enjoyed my first visit with my significant other. The atmosphere was great. There were big screen TVs for us to watch Sunday football while we enjoyed our meal. We were able to have wonderful conversations without straining to hear each other or feel like other guests were listening. The food was delicious. We started with Bang Bang Brussel Sprouts. Neither of us could stop eating it until it was gone. Absolutely delicious! He enjoyed his Parmesan ranch chicken and I enjoyed my salad topped with chicken. The chicken was so well seasoned and moist that I didn’t want to put salad dressing on it out of fear the dressing would ruin my salad. I seriously did not put dressing on my salad! The service was good. We had a little wait for our meals. However, there were two big tables with diners from the gymnastics competition. We both agreed that we will definitely return with family and friends. Really enjoyed our meal and our time together here. I also tried the warm banana pudding. Unfortunately, it was not a hit with me. I didn’t like the warmth and I really missed the vanilla wafers and sliced bananas in cool pudding. I’m glad I tried it though

Meeting a friend in Rock Hill and I had this great idea to try this new restaurant with a cute history and book vibe. The vibe was definitely vibing. Waylon was solid however, he could have been more attentive.
Now to the sack of coal, also known as a burger. $17 for a burger and fries, it better be good. My friend got the Apple something Burger and I got the Melt. The only thing melting was my excitement Both burgers were dry, overcooked with 25% more bread than burger. Yes, beef shrinks however this shrinkage spoke to patties not cooked to order. We really wanted to love it, especially as he drove 1.5hrs to get there. However, it was very unimpressive, unexciting, and under whelming.

This place use to be excellent for food and drinks. Our food was okay- got the fried tomato BLT that I typically get- burnt bacon, mushy greens and bread, and much smaller. They typically have a variation of a flavored margarita on the menu, but there was no option on it or at the bar per the server. We tried another drink, but it was disappointing as well. It’s disappointing to come to a place you frequent as much as you can given needing babysitters or coming out for a special occasion.

Very disappointed with the CF Steak. Two small bites of steak and a ton of breading on a mound of unseasoned mashed potatoes. I thought it came with Brussels but got cabbage, which was fine but unexpected. I didn’t understand that it already came with potatoes so I picked them as my side and received a quart of them along with what was with the steak. Ordered on Doordash.

The host was on the phone when we arrived. She immediately acknowledged us and offered us seating at a high top. We asked for something different. She said all the tables were full. They were not. We said we would wait and asked how long. Instead of giving us a wait time she asked if we wanted the private booth on the side. We said yes and she said our server would be with us. We waited 5 minutes without anyone.

The hostess was setting up another table and asked if we’ve been served. We had not. She said our server probably forgot but she would remind her.

Within 45 seconds Molly showed up. She apologized. We asked her how her day has been going and she was shocked that we asked. She got us our drinks and gave us excellent suggestions on drinks and food.

Apps came out before the alcohol and we were very surprised that they came out so fast. All of the food was out super fast. The food was REALLY amazing! Chicken was moist and tender with great flavoring. I’m not a tomato fan, but cooked perfect. Loved all the food. Dessert was hot and delicious. Love the atmosphere and decor.

Highly recommend this place and can’t wait to come back.

We were Christmas shopping in the area and searched for a new restaurant and found a real treasure in “Old Town.” I love a restaurant where everything is off the charts great. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was excellent – the bbq sauce was well mixed into the pork vs squirted on top. The fries that came with it were the thin, crunchy, and perfectly salted kind…. No need for ketchup! I also ordered the autumn veggie as a side dish and I’d give my lottery tickets to get the recipe…. Guess I’ll just have to come back often. My wife had the coconut milk chicken soup and she described new flavors that One just can’t imitate! The former chef and now general manager came out to share that his mother-in-law gave family secrets on this over the top Thai recipe. Excellent!! What else can I say except these people deserve to be sold out at every meal, get in before the word spreads! We will be back!

Our first experience here was wonderful. Such a fun gem to find. Amber, our server, was personable and helped with all of our questions. The food was as fantastic as the service was! We will definitely be back.

Olde Town Kitchen and Cocktails – What a disaster of a dinner experience

Our group of 4 came in around 8 pm on Saturday night. We got seated quickly and that was the best part of the entire experience.

Drink Order – One ordered white wine, no problem. Someone else tried to order a mule, no ginger beer, it happens. She ordered a cocktail off the menu, which did not come with the garnish as described. Another ordered coffee, they “can’t” do it because the server can’t ring it in, but we could if we went to the bar. Doesn’t make much sense but that is the explanation we were given. Tried to order a Paper Plane cocktail since no coffee, no aperol in the place. Then decided to order a bees knees, but with bourbon. Well the drink came and they made it with gin. Fine, at this point just stick with water. Last, ordered a bourbon and ginger ale. Confirmed house bourbon and the server repeated back to me, remember this for later.

Food – We started with the Bruschetta bites. 2 out of the 4 mozzarella sticks exploded and had no cheese in them. This was basically mozzarella sticks on top of lettuce, diced tomatoes and some balsamic, with a bit of the mustard sauce. One of us ordered the flounder dish, this was good. One ordered the fried green tomato BLT, with a side of grits. Sandwich was dry, had to ask for some sort of sauce to put on it. Side of grits, described as having tomato pepper stew, had nothing on them, but needed it. Another ordered the chicken fried steak, half was warm, Mac and cheese was Kraft quality. Last one ordered the Southwestern burger. There were 3 tiny pieces of crispy onion which looked to be the French’s stuff you can buy at Food Lion, and a dime size portion of the aioli. The burger was so dry it crumbled apart. One bite and quit it was so bad. The server said he let the manager know and she might take it off the bill since I didn’t like it….

Leaving – We asked for a manager to come over due to the amount of issues. When she came over she could not care less about how bad the experience was, but did emphasize that she took the bees knees (they used the wrong liquor) and the burger (we’ve had better fast food burgers) off the bill. When reviewing the bill, I was charged for 1792 bourbon at $11 per drink, which seemed high for a house bourbon. I walked up to the bar and asked a bartender what their house bourbon was, it’s Jim Beam and is $6. This may have seemed like an innocent mistake until we took into account the whole experience. Had to flag the server back down and explain that this was also wrong.

The interior and vibe is so cool at this place and we want it to be great but a clear lack of care from the kitchen and management will prevent it from being more successful. Spend your money somewhere else.
