I hate to say to my surprise, but to my surprise, this place was actually really good. Didn’t expect it but it was amazing. Ordered the big bone beef pho and that was amazing and well cooked. Beef bone was perfectly cooked, soft and tender and Hella juicy. Also ordered the hun Bo Hue. That too was delicious. The meatballs and ham was really good. Tasted like home made, not store bought. Overall great experience here and the food was really good. Best pho in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Ban Mee Restaurant stand out among its competitors for its authenticity and that the owners are actually Vietnamese.
I traveled to Costa Rica with my husband from the United States and Ban Mee was our first choice and it did not disappoint.
The decor is very Vietnamese. I love how cute and cozy it is.
I love the variety of the menu and the prices were very reasonable.
We ordered the special Pho and Com Chien Bo Luc Lac (shaking beef). It was delicious. The Pho broth was very authentic to my liking. The Bo Luc Lac is a lot better than the ones I’ve had in the United States.
We opted for the dessert Che grass jelly with coconut and peanut.
The highlight of our trip was able to meet with Thuy the owner.

Just went today, and the portion has gotten smaller. The taste is also very light. Everything is different than before. It used to be good.

Absolutely loved our meal here. We love Vietnamese food and eat it any chance we get. The PHÒ was authentic, came out super hot, the meat all cooked perfectly and this was the first time I’ve ever had it where the vegetables/greens that normally accompany it was chopped in small pieces and out on top. The bbq spring roll was fresh and tasted just made. The bun for the banh mi was toasted perfectly and the layers were done where you could taste every everything. Friendly service and very nice ambiance. Loved it.
