The vibes were a 10/10 and the service was prompt and kind.
Delicious food and it’s served quick by a very hard working and professional staff. I’ve been here about ten times and it’s always been superb
(Previous review 4/5): Second time here and came based off a recommendation. The ramen itself- spicy fried chicken ramen 4.5/5 (was good and spicy!!, the fried chicken was good but obviously gets soggy really quickly) and 5/5 for the black garlic tonkatsu. We got seated very quickly, and service was good but we never did get our waters refilled- it was fairly busy but we ended up calling them over several times near the end- nothing horrible but I think filling of water should be expected. Takoyaki was very good and served quickly.
Sushi is pretty pricey but looked well made!
However, we would probably come back on a Tuesday because they have specials where ramen is 12.95!
The space is on the smaller side and there’s times where it could be challenging to get a table. I think they do take reservations but we didn’t need one. We were seated right away.
They have a rather large variety of sushi rolls, and they have some other meal options.
The special rolls are always my favourite. They come with something like ten pieces- massive portion for the price. The rice is always fresh and there’s a great portion of fish/veggie to rice. You certainly get your moneys worth.
Unfortunately the two rolls we picked last night were very similar and there wasn’t much variety. The Philadelphia roll was heavy on the cream cheese but the smoked salmon was delicious. The torch roll is always one of my favourites. I love the pickled radish and the wasabi & mustard sauces. There is no level of spice to them so it’s just a nice mish mash of flavours to enjoy.
I opted for the chicken ramen (make it not spicy!). Their chicken katsu was always my favourite but I recommend ordering the chicken on the side so you can add it when you’re ready to eat it so it doesn’t get soggy and so that it retains its crunch.
The ramen’s usually pretty good but I filled up pretty fast, and I found they had a very generous portion of ramen noodles to the other ingredients. The broth is very salty here. It was my favourite ramen place for years.
We also shared an order of gyoza. They were tasty.
My partner has the chicken bulgogi but wishes he’d gotten the beef in the end. There was more spice than sweet/tang to it. It came In a cute box with some veggies and rice.
Overall was a pretty good dinner. Service was decent. There was one server on for the entire restaurant and I think she was busy at some points so it took us awhile to get our takeout containers.
Of note:
When you’re ready to order- close the menu as it prompts the serve staff to come take your order.
When you’re done you approach the counter to pay. They don’t bring the bill or machine to you.
