My partner and I have been regulars of Sushi Dabu for many years at this point, since we moved back to the area in 2020. Even before then, I came here a lot on my own when I was still in high school. Every time I’ve come to Sushi Dabu, I’ve been very impressed with not only the food itself, but the service. Since my last review, ownership has changed, and the new owners and staff are also fantastic hosts.
You really can’t go wrong with any of their dishes. My go-to dish is the pork hot stone bowl, but their yakisoba, katsu, and soups are also all delicious. I would recommend trying the tempura and the takoyaki as well. Their sushi is also fantastic, and I just recently tried a nigiri platter for the first time (I have never been a huge fan of fish, and most of the time I am very cautious about raw fish) and was blown away by how delicious it was. I was worried I wouldn’t like it due to my aversion to fish, but the nigiri was very fresh and meaty, buttery, smooth, flavorful, etc. Some of my favorites were the akami, unagi, skipjack, and yellowtail, but all of them were delicious.
Sushi Dabu is our favorite restaurant, and is often the place we choose for our dinner + movie date night. I hope to keep coming here for a long, long time, and I highly recommend them if you’re looking for great Japanese/Korean food, fantastic and warm service, and a lowkey but fun atmosphere.
horrible with names) are awesome and don’t miss a beat and deserve a lot of the praise just like the owner and chefs.
Really pleasant atmosphere, clean, not loud.
Highly recommend Takoyaki as a starter one of my favorites. Miso soup is always great to start with even with loads of sushi coming your way. Crazy Girl Roll, Spicy Tuna or even better Yellowtail and Red Lion roll.
It gets busy and for good reason. But if you are lucky like me and my wife are sometimes, you will enjoy a quiet meal before the rush.
See you again very soon -Safuan
— a fun touch to add to the nice atmosphere. And thanks to Annie for making our experience even better.
We love agedashi tofu so have ordered it from nearly every place that offers it in town. This is easily the best. Perfectly fried with a rich, sweet broth.
The tamago is made fresh (you can taste the difference) so definitely get some nigiri if you’re a fan.
Our maki rolls were all fantastic, I really don’t think you can go wrong. Enjoyed the mushroom, salmon on the beach, and mogu mogu rolls. They are very considerate about flavor and texture combos!
Enjoyed a couple bottles of hot sake with our meal as well.
We’ll definitely be back! What a gem.
