Four of us had lunch today, our first time at the Bears Paw but definitely not our last.
Very warm and welcoming atmosphere, excellent food and lovely, friendly staff. The prawn green Thai curry was fantastic. Couldn’t have been better and looking forward to returning

Wish I could give more than 5*, mainly due to the AMAZING staff, they are SO pleasant & helpful. We sat down after receiving our drinks & suddenly the lady behind the bar came over & replaced my husbands pint as she noticed it was cloudy (he had begun to drink it & hadn’t noticed) Also, after eating our plentiful Sunday roasts, I made a minor comment to a different waitress,& on receiving our bill they had taken off a dessert! Customer Service @ it’s VERY best. Thankyou

Family style restaurant and bar. Bustling on a Sunday. Wonderful staff, cooking average with smaller sized portions, not sure everything fresh so a little freezer action in play with some dishes. Lovely family atmosphere.

Booked this lovely pub a week ago. As 4 of us friends wanted something not to far away. We had never been here before. 2 of us had Lasagne which was really nice hot too. One of our friends had Thai chicken curry. My husband had chicken jalfrezi curry.
Had a lovely time. Staff were very friendly too. Especially the young lady we were talking to as we were just leaving. (her auntie runs the pub)
We will definitely be back
All of us had a lovely afternoon. Thank you

Been today for Sunday lunch from the set menu – amazing food! Had the prawn cocktail starter, lamb main and choccie brownie for desert, all courses absolutely delicious, couldn’t fault any of it, first time I’ve been and certainly won’t be the last. I would highly recommend this little place

Great food and service
Loved the Guinea Fowl with Orange & Cranberry Sauce
The veg was generously sized and al dente
Hats off to the chefs !
Fantastic variety of Unique Ales and Wines
I’m not sure who sourced all of these ales but they’re very resourceful lol
I loved the Bitburger shandy ( low alcohol but very fruity taste )
Will definitely revisit soon
Ps the High Leigh locals are so so friendly as well

Lovely, cosy, Country pub. Sunday roast was lovely (roasties possibly a bit overdone) but loads of meat and veg. Big portion of brownie for dessert! Delish! Went with friends and everyone enjoyed their meal. Will go again.

This place is one of my favourite places to visit. The food is delicious and the staff are fantastic, they can’t do enough for you which is rarity in restaurants service. The setting is only small, but you get a real homely vibe when dining.

Another excellent lunch, on Thursday 06NOV2025. The busy pub schedule meant that we were offered a 13h15 slot when we booked – which worked just fine.
A great range of foods, good beers and drinks, served by a dedicated team who seemed one person short of a full team.
Most customers will likely arrive by car – which brings us to our only serious observation is the state of the car park surface. You need to accelerate to get clear of oncoming traffic – but then you encounter the first pothole!

The food was incredible. We were passing by had had the pie of the day. Best food we have eaten in ages. It was steak ale and mushroom. Wow! The beef was tender, the gravy was rich and the mash and veg was fab! We left very happy!
