Sorry Ms. Jackson
We decided to check this plate out for a to go order since we were in the area. Tasha, the woman who answered the phone was pleasant. Offering recommendations when asked. Once we arrived to pick up the food, I entered the establishment, smiling ear to ear. Our food was all packed up and ready to go.

One waitress said she thought we weren’t coming because we had called it in, what, maybe 20 minutes prior to arrival? We like to give ample time to have the meal ready upon arrival. Was a strange thing for her to mention. But I brushed it off. I gave compliments, and told them I wanted to take photos of the menu to include in my review.

The cashier, who did not seem to be in the best mood was very passive. As if I was taking up too much time, as she seemed hurried to ring me up. The energy was very off putting, although I was very nice to her. Maybe it was an off day.

We ordered a shrimp po boy and 2 sides. 1 was the sweet potato casserole, and I can’t remember what the other one was. Either way, both sides did not look appetizing. I told my husband he could have them both, which he did not seem to enjoy, and did not finish eating. I couldn’t help but notice, the shrimp were not deveined. Yuck. It made my stomach turn when I noticed so many black lines on the battered fried shrimp.

All in all, the food overall was just ok. Nothing I would consider doubling back for. The service was left to be desired. I’m glad I did not stick around to dine in. The place could use a serious revamp/update, as well as some of the employee’s and their hospitality.

This place is clearly a local favorite! What they serve is value for money — I’ve never had so much shrimp on a poboy! Service was good and our soft drinks never went empty.

Why not 5 stars — my food preferences bias this review. I wish they used proper crunchy French Bread. I love cocktail sauce but theirs was more of a spiced ketchup that seemed to be missing horseradish. The onion rings looked fantastic and tasted fine though I’d rather no cornmeal in the batter.

OH MY GOODNESS, THIS PLACE IS GOOD!!
We are traveling from Texas to Florida and decided to stop and try this mom and pop seafood restaurant right off the freeway.

I ordered the fried green tomatoes topped with boiled shrimp and their signature sauce on top of lettuce. Rating is 10/10 – great flavor! Large portion but doesn’t make you feel heavy and tired after.

Husband ordered the shrimp Po-boy sandwich and his rating is also 10/10 – (he did say although his was a 10 he liked my order better bc of the sauce flavor that was on point)

We ordered fried okra- also 10/10 – cooked perfectly.

Last but definitely not least-
The Sweet Potato casserole was 10/10- this is a must try. (It tastes like a dessert although it’s not listed as one) topped with melted marshmallows.

We will be back on our next road trip!

One more thing- they give you a lot of food per each order. Keep that in mind as well. The picture of our food was half eaten already except the sides.

We went there to get the $8.00 shrimp poboy, which is what my brother got. I had the large oyster poboy and Vanessa ordered the grilled shrimp plate. For the table, we had onion rings, Oyster Rockefeller dip with fresh chips and 2 different bread puddings for dessert. We ate and left with enough food for our next meal. Everything was really good and the portions were surprisingly large for the price. We will definitely be adding them to our normal rotation.

To start we have 6 kids (two of them twins 3 months old) so to say we had our hands full is an understatement. The waitresses was very helpful even with the kids. And word spread fast about the twins n kids and everyone there come by to see them and admire the twins. The food from shrimp, fries, onion rings, and everything was beyond amazing. I would drive 100 miles just to eat here. Truly a great place, atmosphere, and food. The service was fantastic

The service by Mary was awesome. She recommend several things to us. This was the first time I had ever been there. I had the fried crab cakes which were a little over cooked. The side of broccoli was tasty and made on the grill. Hamburger was made to order and it was good. The bread pudding was delicious. The place is very out dated but clean. The waitress worked together to make the customers feel comfortable and satisfied. The cashier who didn’t smile or greet customers was very disappointing to see. I asked the waitress about it and was told she was the owner. She also reprimanded the waitress for being too polite to her customers. The other waitress brought food to the table so the customer didn’t have to wait. That’s what I call team work. I felt bad for the waitress who was scolded in front of the customers in the open. How unprofessional she was to her help. The owner should be ashamed of herself for being so mean to her employees. You need to appreciate your help. Those waitress were super nice to me and all the other customers. I will go back again only because of how nice the waitresses were and how they work together to help each other out. And the next time I come in there, I will say something to that owner. Shame on you for treating your-employees the way you do. you can’t get good help these days And you should appreciate the Employees that Work for you

Food was good! Great service, all around okay. Crab sauce was alittle bland but still a nice touch to the food. Oysters, good… but really the best food item was the fish and also the service was really friendly this meal was $120.00 pictured.

We decided to stop here while visiting locally due to some great reviews we found on google. It seemed like a diner that could use some upgrades but we decided to try it anyway. All 4 of us had something different but one thing stayed consistent- their domestic shrimp are not cleaned, they were loaded with poop and taste like mud. We were sick for 3 days. If you visit, skip the domestic shrimp unless you enjoy frequent bathroom trips and severe stomach pain- the fish was pretty good though.
