The service was friendly and reasonably good.
The food was not great. Chips and salsa were good. The shrimp dishes were also pretty good. The pork tamale was so bad as to be inedible. It wasn’t just that it was very dry, it also had a really off flavor that was nasty. The beans were bland but ok. The Spanish-style rice had a weird flavor. The shredded beef taco was ok after adding some of the salsa to it. Flour tortillas were flavorless – tasted like store-bought. The corn tortillas are definitely purchased and mass produced. Totally flavorless and a bit stale.
There are probably a few things that are reasonably good to get and if you only stick with them you might be ok. It would be a bit of a minefield until you figure out what they are.

Best Mexican restaurant in Morro Bay, in my opinion. The shrimp burrito and all of their shrimp dishes are amazing. Chips and salsa are always on point. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. Indoor or outdoor seating available. If you’re in Morro Bay, looking for great Mexican food, this is the place.

The service could have been way better. I waited 6 minutes to be seated, even being the only party waiting. There were about 4 tables in the entire restaurant, so being busy was not an excuse. When we were eventually seated, the server disappeared for a bit. It left a bad taste in my mouth. The server did come back around and the food was decent. Nothing to write home about. The flavor was a little bland and the Chile relleno was undercooked. The price was decent, but with everything else considered, it was overpriced. Better service and more flavor will make this place a winner.
Chips and salsa are $2.95??? I’ve never paid for them in any Mexican restaurant. There is also a one refill max policy on soft drinks. Just thought to mention these two things.

The food was absolutely wonderful. From the start of the warm chips and yummy salaa. To the two dishes we ordered. Our waitress, wish I caught her name, was very nice and helpful. The food was full of flavor and the prices very reasonable. This was our first visit but will be back when we are in Morro Bay again.

A small restaurant hidden in a muddle. Stopped in on a whim for an early lunch. Authentic, cozy and welcoming, we had a seat just inside. The doors were propped open with a cool sea breeze flowing through. Ordered guacamole and bean dip for an appetizer with the Best Horchata I’ve had in years! For the order we had the Chimichangas plate with rice and beans. Just Wow!! All homemade down to the salsas and horchata! Liz wat Thee best! Thank you guys and Mad Love to the chef!!!! ❤️❤️ ❤️❤️

If you want decent Chile Verde nachos, go to Bayside Cafe. Mi Casa served a very disappointing dish and it was a featured special on father’s day below. Nice delicious Chile Verde Nachos from Bayside Cafe 2nd picture.

+ Reasonable prices and HUGE portions
+ Hearty and filling food — feels like a home cooked meal
+ Really loved the Tamales here in the red sauce. DELICIOUS!
+ Complimentary chips and salsa. Bonus points for chips being warm 🙂 The salsa was decent but a little runny and mild. It had a really fresh and light taste, but not much spice.
+ They serve beer and wine at very reasonable prices
+ Super dark (but spacious) interior that made me claustrophobic. There are no windows or natural light coming in besides the front door so it feels really closed off, dingy, and stuffy
+ We opted to sit at the outdoor patio which is lovely, bright, and colorful
+ Service was a little weird and cold at first. We asked to sit on the patio since the weather was nice and our server seemed a little irritated by that. He made a disapproving comment initially and made another comment that the phones rings a lot and he likes to close off the patio again while we were closing out our bill. Eventually throughout the meal he warmed up a little more to us, but we felt like we were walking on eggshells the whole meal. What’s the point of having a nice patio if customers aren’t welcome to use it?!
+ Large parking lot with plenty of spots available
+ Right across from Foster Freeze! I didn’t see a dessert menu here so if you’re looking for something sweet to end your meal Mi Casa is conveniently located to Foster’s Freeze.

Overall, our experience was okay but nearing on the weird side. It was an unusual experience with the whole patio situation but nonetheless we enjoyed the food for the most part. It wasn’t the best, but it was better than average!

Just ok. 2nd time I have ordered a breakfast burrito to go. The 1st time it was pretty dry, bland, and missing cheese. So this time I ordered it wet and with extra cheese. Still dry inside and zero cheese. I had to doctor it up at home with hot sauce, cheese, and a bit of sour cream. I should have just made my own. Now I know : /

We had such a lovely family dinner out – such a lovely surprise. Service was so fast and friendly and food was delicious. The warm, homemade tortilla chips that just kept coming were a bonus. The fact that they remembered it was our son’s birthday after we only mentioned it in passing really made him feel special. Muchos gracias to the whole team!
