The Muffin House is a solid coffee shop and bakery. They have a wide selection of flavored coffees and pastries.
The layout is a bit haphazard. One row of stanchions separates the walkway and the queue, and people entering don’t always seem to realize the flow. Employees ask the next person in line assist, and you pay and wait at the front where there’s no room to wait, so it just creates an awkward bottleneck.
The coffee was decent, but not incredible. I found myself not finishing my iced coffee which is unusual for me.
The pastries all look beautiful but were a tad underwhelming. Again, not bad, but there’s more bark than bite.
I do want to return and try the bagel specials menu. Some of those like the spicy sunrise sound amazing. We’ll have to see!

Finally stopped into Muffin House Cafe on Route 16 in Mendon for breakfast—& wow! There were so many great options, but I went with the Spicy Sunrise on a jalapeño cheddar bagel: egg, sausage, spinach, tomato, onion, pepper jack cheese, & chipotle mayo. Absolute perfection. Paired it with a delicious caramel macchiato, & of course I couldn’t leave without muffins. The blueberry & apple cinnamon were both incredible. They have five other locations across Massachusetts—definitely worth checking out!

I took a chance and showed up at 3:30 on a Saturday afternoon after hearing about this place from Phantom Gourmet and there was actually plenty left in stock! I think they make stuff fresh throughout the day because I swear my muffin was still warm! I got both the blueberry muffin and the raspberry/orange and they were perfection! The tops were sweet but not completely crusted in sugar, they were clearly made in house from a recipe and I have a new muffin spot!

Literally every single time I go here it’s over a 15+ minute wait just to get a bagel toasted with cream cheese, then the quick option is to get a muffin, the thing they are known for, but by 10am they are always sold out of everything besides coffee cake and chocolate chip. Not sure why the Mendon location is so bad because never seem to have wait issues at the Medway location. Have never left this place having a good experience.

i love coming here and do so often! the coffee is great, food is delicious, and baked goods are also fantastic. prices are a bit higher than other breakfast places but it more than makes up for it in quality and portion size. there’s also a pretty good rewards program that i recommend joining if you come here often. i super duper recommend !!!

It’s a cute place! BUT! Staff has a sour attitude 75% of the time and the sandwiches that are grilled are almost always burnt. We have asked in the past to be sure not to burn the bread and it came out better. Once we brought the sandwiches back in and got a balance on a gift card. They should really be paying more attention to what they are sending out to customers.

Food is actually very tasty. But the management needs to teach the cooks a better system. It took 20 minutes to get a simple bagel with butter. Which is surprising as there’s 9 people behind the counter. Very unorganized. I generally avoid this place for that simple reason.

This place is the best place ever. If I’m ever near one of their locations I have to stop. The staff here is so nice and their coffee is the best I’ve ever had. The fresh egg breakfast sandwiches are delicious. Ask for it over hard if you don’t want it scrambled!

What an insanely delicious spot. I’ve loved the Muffin House for years and every location is consistently good. Today, we happened to be in the Mendon area and decided to stop in.
The service was great, we were in and out in less than 10 minutes even though it was busy. Our cashier was kind and the building itself is very nicely decorated with plenty of seating.
We ordered two muffins and a cheesecake. These are more splurge treats as the price came out to $15. However, I never mind paying for quality. And their products are always amazing.
The cheesecake is phenomenal. I always do the strawberry and it’s a perfect blend or sweet strawberry with the tangy but pillowy cheesecake. The crust has almost a spicy but not overwhelming flavor to it as well.
We also ordered a sweet/sour and raspberry vanilla muffin. Both muffins were high quality, large, and could have been enough for two breakfasts.
I can not recommend the Muffin House enough!

awesome place the muffins are INCREDIBLE!!! atmosphere is nice and staff friendly and personable. was decently busy on a saturday at 11:30, so i assume it’s pretty packed if you go earlier. one muffin (probably twice the size of your average muffin) and a small coffee is around 10.50. coffee was great although the pumpkin latte was extremely gingery. had nice indoor seating and a lot of other pastry’s besides muffins like cupcakes and even full cakes? never had one but they look great. definitely come here
