Me and my fiance were just in there and the whole atmosphere was very welcoming and very friendly loved the food and the lady who took our order was amazing and very friendly you could tell she loves what she does if I could give 10 stars I definitely would. I would also like to add that the French onion soup was the best!!!

What the owners did with the old space is fantastic. The food was excellent and the drinks were great! We will excellent be back. That space would look great decorated for Christmas like Rolph’s in NY.
I had the OG chicken gravy and waffles. Perfectly done. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture before I ate most of it.

Waffles & Shine in Chambersburg, PA is described as a “speak-easy style restaurant” offering both food and drink options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It definitely lives up to the speak-easy vibe with the decor and style inside. It is quite cozy and surprisingly beautiful with the dark brown tiled ceiling and copper penny wall accents. I arrived for breakfast around 10:30am and only two other patrons were in the restaurant. I ordered a coffee with butterscotch shine. It was about half as strong as I hoped, both the flavor of the shine and the coffee. For food, I chose the Chicken and Waffle in traditional style. This is like a chicken pot pie on top of a waffle. The savory flavors of the chicken really went nicely with the sweetness of the waffle. The cheesy potato casserole was tasty as a side dish. Unfortunately, neither the food nor the drink were great, just okay. A few adjustments to the food could make Waffles and Shine exceptional. Let me know if you would like my feedback further. As it stands, three stars for Waffles and Shine in Chambersburg, PA.

Staff and atmosphere was great. Went on a Saturday morning for breakfast with the hubby. Coffee was made on demand and immediately fresh. Loved it. Waffles were good, maple bourbon syrup was outstanding. Bacon was fried in a fryer and lost it’s flavor. Chicken was pre-made, processed chicken similar to tyson chicken which was disappointing.

I would give this establishment 5 stars if it wasn’t for the service. It started out ok however I think our waitress forgot about us after ordering she seemed to be filming herself and on her phone instead of refilling our drinks and seemed inconvenienced by us. Otherwise this is a fantastic establishment. We loved the decor. It’s so nice to have a place like this downtown chambersburg. Our food also met our expectations. We will be back we won’t let one bad customer service experience stop us from coming back. Just hoping for better next time.

This place does not disappoint. Everything was delicious from drinks to food. The atmosphere was cool and had all kinds of unique decor. Our server was very friendly and the owner even came around! We got drinks, an appetizer, entrees, and dessert. The dessert was definitely my favorite part!

We were really rooting for this place. The atmosphere was awesome. The lighting, colors, and decor were spot on. The waitress was great. I believe we were her only table, but she was nice and attentive. Whoever wrote the menu did a beautiful job of describing wonderful food, sadly that was not what ended up on our table. Now I do take into consideration that we went on a Monday and that this establishment is somewhat new, but the food was really a disappointment. We started out with the soft pretzel, and it came with honey mustard and cheese sauce. The pretzels didn’t taste fresh, I dare say maybe microwaved? The cheese sauce was just warm enough to look fluid but was borderline cold. I ordered the waffle with chicken strips and the “bourbon” syrup. If there was any hint of bourbon, it was because the syrup was bottled in an old bourbon bottle from the prohibition. The waffle was a waffle, and the chicken…was dry and shared similar characteristics of Tyson chicken tenders that were cooked earlier in the day and maybe sat in a warming drawer. My husband ordered the pasta dish with “house made” Alfredo, and we added the chicken (two dried out and overcooked Tyson chicken tenders). The sauce was mediocre at best. It doesn’t take much to make a fresh Alfredo sauce and it didnt come with the fresh vegetable medleyas stated on the menu. We didn’t order any drinks so no comment on that. Overall for a total of $49.78 +$10 tip, I’d suggest maybe a different restaurant. We are all for eating local when out of town, but for these prices I suggest heading to Texas Roadhouse, you’ll get more food and better quality for the same price.

My husband and I decided to check out Waffles and Shine tonight. We enjoyed some nice drinks and wonderful food. My husband loved his steak and the chicken&waffles brought this Lancaster County girl at heart right back to momma’s table on Friday nights. The drinks were absolutely delicious, I enjoyed the Butterscotch Slippery Slope and my husband enjoyed his Pina colada slushy. The service was wonderful, both the waitress and Jacob were always checking up on us. Another man, (I think the owner?) checked in with us several times. There were some slight mishaps but that is always expected in the first month of being opened and we still throughly enjoyed our meal. The decor inside was stunning, from the pictures on the walls to the record player, it takes you straight to 1920s. And the check came in a little hollow book which was so cool. My husband and I will definitely be back!

Visited this restaurant tonight (1/13/26) for the first time, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The ambiance/vibe reminded me of dive bars you’d find in big cities, which I loved. I went with my roommate. For appetizers, we ordered the deviled eggs, and the fried pickles. The fried pickles were probably the best I’ve ever had. I wasn’t expecting to like the Cajun ranch, so I asked if I could get that and regular ranch. I love spicy foods and sauces, but have never had a flavored ranch I liked. Theirs, I loved! To me, it wasn’t spicy at all, but had an amazing added flavor that made the regular ranch unnecessary. My fault. The deviled eggs were also delicious. The bacon on top added a nice, smoky flavor. I also ordered a cup of their soup of the day, which was broccoli cheddar. Delicious, but slightly too thick/greasy. Also, a pack of crackers would’ve helped, texturally, but that’s a personal preference. For entrees, I had the chicken and waffles (with syrup, not gravy), and my roommate had the gumbo. The chicken and waffles were fantastic. If I could make one suggestion, put cinnamon sticks in the syrup…Founding Farmers does this, and it turns the syrup into liquid crack (not literally, but it’s so good I’d pay $50 for a bottle of it if they sold it, and I think this restaurant’s syrup would be equally good if they added cinnamon sticks). The syrup was still great, though, and complimented the chicken tenders and waffle! My roommate ate all of his gumbo, really enjoyed it, and said it was very rich in flavor. We can’t wait to try more dishes the next time we visit!
Service wise, there was only one server, who was also the bartender. The place is pretty small, and it was a Tuesday night, so I wasn’t surprised. All of the food, as well as drink refills, came out in a very timely manner. We waited a few minutes longer than expected to get our check and pay, but no biggie. She was busy and, as a server, I get it. Will definitely be returning, and will for sure recommend this restaurant to others! Overall, we were very satisfied, and left with full bellies and no complaints!
