Great local spot in Caunes-Minervois. The menu de jour is great value and absolutely delicious. The staff were very friendly despite our very poor French – half a litre of wine for €6 along with the delicious food makes this a perfect spot under the trees.

Stopped here after a hike for lunch. Friendly service on a sunny patio, by the fountain. Generous portions and tasty food. Good Crème brûlée and coffee. 90 euros for 4 people, food, drinks, desserts and coffee. Felt like a local restaurant, not a tourist trap. We definitely recommend.

Relax, laid back village vibe, mainly locals with few tourists. The pace just slows down and you can enjoy a slow, leisurely lazy lunch in an authentic French bistro. Food is good and the set lunch is really value for money. Staff are friendly, can’t ask for more.

Hamburger and fries on their sunny patio. Reasonable prices. Also a bar/ tabac and pretty much the main restaurant in Caunes Minervois. Semi friendly and if you aren’t a local they looked at you like you shouldn’t be there.

Had a really unpleasant experience here. My partner and I were met with really hostile vibes for some reason. We sat at the table for 20 minutes with no service, which was fine, but then when someone eventually came over, we were told to order quickly because the kitchen was closing, we ordered straight away. As we named things to order, they kept saying ‘no’ we couldn’t have that, also fine and understandable. I get they want to make something easy. We settled on a salad, which came with frites, which we confirmed with the waiter. The salad came out, it was ok and rushed together, but the frites didn’t come, and when we asked where they were, they said ‘non’, despite them saying they came with frites when we ordered. This all would be fine, really, but the entire time these interactions happened, the staff were so rude, dismissive and curt, for no reason? When we asked for the bill, to get out of there, they then took ages to bring it, and kept forgetting. It was a real shame and really odd

Very prompt and friendly service in this outside seated set of tables beside and around the village fountain. The staff are exceptional. The food – good portions and hot – was very tasty, simple but very well presented. Nice atmosphere. Cosmopolitan clientèle and very fairly priced. Must be the best taste and value location in the village. Recommended.

We had an unplanned lunch here in early October. The Menu du Jour in fact. It was first class food and great value. Tourists like ourselves were few and far between but locals kept the place busy. That’s always a good sign.
We will return.
