We ate a wonderful, nourishing breakfast here prior to visiting Petrified Forest Nat’l Park. The food was freshly made, excellent and matching the descriptions. The bacon was done to perfection. French Toast nicely crisp on the outside and tender inside. Huevos Rancheros were very nice. Coffee was quite good for a diner. Service was polite and prompt throughout. Well done, Camaleon!

We chose this restaurant for its proximity to the Tesla superchsrger. Good choice.
They had an excellent chef salad that we enjoyed for a sit-down meal on the road. The ham might have been a little salty, but the lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, broccoli, olives, and egg were spectacular. Best way to hydrate.
Service was friendly & attentive. Plenty of parking & seating.
If you’re looking for a good place to eat on the historic Route 66, try Camaleon Cafe.

This place is awesome. Local fresh delicious food with friendly staff! Chips and salsa were fresh, spicy and flavorful! Had the Green Chili Fries and they were delicious! Like a Mexican poutine! I ordered a cup of green chili soup to ensure I had enough to drown those fries. Loved the green chili sauce/soup. You must try something with it. The tamale was beautifully authentic and very tasty. The burrito was huge and packed full of shredded beef with incredible flavor. “Best burrito I’ve had in my life” says my dining partner. Tostada was fresh and had perfectly ripe tomatoes and good flavor. Great food and a great value. We left absolutely stuffed! This place is a short walk from the Tesla Supercharger. Take the walk and support local business. We came back two days later on our way east and had lunch again! This place is a gem. Loved the chili relleno, tamale, rice and beans. All had good flavor! The enchilada was just cheese topped with the green chili sauce. The cheese inside wasn’t melted, but it tasted okay. Service was good.

The food was good, the service was really good. I requested a side of red chili to have with my hamburger steak and eggs. I enjoyed the red chili. It enhanced the flavor of the meal.

Cute little cafe. Clean inside and friendly service. My open face roast beef was fantastic. Swimming perfectly in a dark flavorful gravy. The roast was thin, tender and delicious.

Seldom do this, but giving it a 1. Atmosphere is what it is, nothing fancy at all. Service was good. 2pm on a Thursday, no waiting, one other customer waiting for a take out order.
Unfortunately the food was terrible. Chicken sandwich that looked like it was placed in a bun and stepped on it was so flat with a drink and 6 fries….yes 6, $20. Literally could not eat the sandwich, was absolutely the worst thing I’ve eaten in years. Chicken was like a piece of gristle, literally inedible. Drink was a soda, hard to screw that up, unless you fill a cup completely with ice, and pour 6 ozs of liquid into a 24 oz cup. Threw the entire mess in the trash.
Never go here. Terrible, nasty, just awful.

The food was the most blandest Mexican food I have ever had. The salsa tasted like spicy V8 so you have to add lime and salt just to get the taste to work enough to drown your food in it. The service was good and the server was friendly. I hope this helps warn travelers to avoid this restaurant.

This location was recommended by the Circle K crew from across the street. They suggested the $1.99 tacos.
The tacos were ok. The staff was nice and the place seemed busy as I watched locals come and go with their greetings, small talk and salutations.
I can’t really comment as to the quality, taste and value of the food being served. The $1.99 taco special isn’t food I wanted to judge them on.
Give the locals your money before you give it to the corporate/franchise restaurants if you can.

My siblings and I were visiting the area to view a property. So the property was disappointing, but we decided to make a day of the visit, and we thought we tried out Cameleon Cafe for breakfast. Needless to say, We could have done much better.
I imagine this food is best for locals. My sister and nephew ordered the steak and eggs. What a disappointment. The steak was so hard and rubbery. My brother and I ordered the Hevos Rancheros, and it was just ok. Other than that, the service was great.

We stopped here in July 2023 on our way east from the Grand Canyon and it was so good! It was Friday night all you can eat fish and my husband loved it. I got #8 Mexican dinner and I loved it!
