My husband and I, visiting from El Paso, decided to spend Valentine’s Day in Santa Fe. He discovered this charming little spot and made the reservation, and we couldn’t have been happier. The ambience was warm and inviting, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious, and we loved being able to share plates. There was a nice spicy kick that perfectly complemented the flavors. The drinks were strong and well-made, too. We highly recommend this place for a date night or even a fun outing with friends – we’ll definitely be back!

Updated review:
Still hate the seat set up but come early and try to get bar. LOVE the bar. I usually come at 0430 to be first in line.
Have tried almost everything on the menu and everything is great.
The bartenders are fantastic- the mollys and Hannah.
Martini and Thai-Tini are fantastic. Wine is good but no proper wine glasses so I don’t go for wine here. (No white or red stemware)
Go to: fried chicken and house noodles
Recent fav: lamb curry (most tender lamb I’ve ever had) pork belly melts in your mouth
I’ve been here several times already and slowly becoming a regular with my hubby.

Outstanding from top to bottom. The design is modern, and the atmosphere is effortlessly cool and on-trend without feeling try-hard. Service has been excellent every time we’ve visited, and the food is truly exceptional. We’ve been a few times now and have sampled a wide range of dishes—every single one has been a hit. There’s a great sense of balance in both the use of space and the layering of flavors. We can’t wait to return.

I’ve been looking forward to coming here for the past few weeks after hearing about it from different people in town and after visiting I was very disappointed. The service is fantastic, everyone there is very attentive and accommodating. We got there just after they opened and there were only around 10 seats left available out of the 35 or so seats that they have. The atmosphere was great and we really like the vibe in there, it reminded us of a big city bustling restaurant. However, the food was very disappointing.
Pork Belly Bar Steak – This came with an egg on the side which paired well with the pork belly but besides that it didn’t have alot of flavor and was a little bland.
House-made rice noodles – Smelled amazing and the flavors came together well. The first bite was delicious but every bite after that got more salty and spicy. By the fifth bite the original flavor was gone and it was just overpowered with spice to the point where I didn’t taste anything. I wish that this was less spicy and alot less salty because all of the ingredients paired so well together.
Crab Nam Prik – This was salty as well, but it’s crab so that’s expected.
We got the panna cotta for dessert and that was probably the best thing we ate there
I rated this 3 stars because I would like to come back and try a few of the other things on the menu. I believe that this has a lot of potential but it was just too salty.

Fantastic Malay/Thai flavor and texture combinations and a deliciously creative cocktail menu. No reservations, FCFS, limited seating, all means you have to arrive very early and know that you will be waiting for a while, then sitting in close quarters communal seating. Friendly, helpful and available staff deliver joint service very well. All dishes we tried were excellently executed and uniquely different. Cocktails to start were balanced and thoughtful. Spicy surprise crab nam prik hidden under a velvety steamed custard (that must be done with perfect hydrocolloid use?) with jasmine rice is not something in the normal American’s culinary texture lexicon, but must be tried. The daily-homemade rice noodles (limited portions available each night) are seared in a hot pan, giving intermittent crunchy bites, with shrimp and pork and a healthy dose of acidity. Pork belly bar steak with fried egg (runny yolk, yum!) has a smoky (chile paste), slightly sweet (tamarind?), and savory (dried shrimp?) sauce on the unctuous plate completed by needed freshness of Thai basil and herbs… excellent! Crowded and very loud (concrete floor and walls), this is not a first date or meeting/ conversational place. It is full of energy and great vibe. Black tea panna cotta with palm sugar peanut crunch was very tasty and quite light on the gel factor (served in a glass). Pandan (vanilla of the East) tapioca flour (think pao de queijo gumminess) cake with salted coconut custard and toasted coconut is another foreign-to-American palates surprise of a dish. While the salted custard was very tasty, the cake itself needs to be slowly savored to reveal the complex depth of pandan flavor. Will definitely return to explore more of the menu (hello larb, fried chicken, som tum, squash, and more!), but must go right at opening time on an off night, and I’m sure it will still be packed and noisy, as this gem is not hidden! With its popularity, I’m sure they’re just itching to find a larger space to move into. I have not tried sister restaurants in Taos yet (Corner Office and The Stakeout), but now I can’t wait!

Leo’s brings something new, innovative, and inviting to Santa Fe. The interior is chic, warm, and beautiful. Seating is communal and adds a fun vibe. The cocktails were impressively concocted; presentation and balance were awesome. The food was delicious, interesting, timely, and perfect for sharing. The service was almost unbelievable; after being open for less than a week, the staff worked in perfect harmony. Additionally, everyone was engaging and fun (shout out to Lucio, our server). I couldn’t have asked for a better experience on my first visit of hopefully many. So happy to have this option come to Santa Fe.
PS – highly recommend saving room for dessert (sorry, don’t remember the name, but it is in the pictures)

I understand the hype of this place and fully understand that new business are challenging. But I also think that the seating & organization is a whole mess. We were told 45 minutes wait..not even going to complain about that part. We waited the whole 45 minutes. And then some. There is no reservation system for this place and it is supposed to be “first come first serve”. We were put on the list but people who came after us – both bigger groups and smaller got seated before us. Not a lot of communication from service folks about possibility of sitting at the bar…and it seemed like friends and aquaintances of the restaurant peeps got seated before us?? I got a confirmation from my restaurant community friend about this-their restaurant manager got seated with practically no wait time..and some meals were even comped!. Wait…omg…I think all the 5 star reviews are from the restaurant peeps who got seated with no wait times + their meals were comped )
Anyhoo- Our wait time kept climbing. And I get it ..new restaurant in Santa Fe…lots of people to cater to who are excited. But the lack of communication when the wait time is 45+ minutes while we waited in the waiting front area as others who came after were getting seated before us… RUDE!! If it was opening day or even a day or two after opening day…I get it. You wanna welcome your restaurant homies. But y’all are into week 4. If the restaurant peeps are the only people y’all wanna cater to…welp. That’s….a choice.
The food is okay but I don’t think it was worth waiting for more than 1 hour for this. Is there a point in reviewing the food if you probably don’t even get to eat it because they’re just seating their restaurant pallies? Prolly NOT!
Jkjk. See that would be unfair. We waited, waited some more, ordered 3 small plates, 1 large main, 1 dessert & 2 drinks, boxed our leftovers, tipped fairly & got outta there. We started out wait at 7:05 pm & by the time we got seated at 8:20, they were out of sticky rice, the lamb curry, satay and a noodle dish or some such.
We got the eggplant- this was nice. Well spiced and went well with the chicharron. The other smalls were the catfish sum tum- also good. Appropriate usage of fish sauce; & the larb. Larb was good. Appreciated the steamed rice that actually came with the dish & the toasted rice in the larb. Got the dorade as a main but I was so overstimulated by this time, I asked for a box ( hence the photo in a box). Fish was fine. Not the freshest. The sauce that came with it was flavorful. We got the first two cocktails on the menu with the food- also not too bad. And got the pandan cake thing for dessert…it was okay.. smelled eggy. I liked the steamed texture of the cake.
The seating is a sensory nightmare. I am a fan of communal tables but not when I am practically sitting on my neighbors lap while the bathroom door is hitting me ever so often. This is some economy airplane vibes I did not have on my evening’s bingo card.
Me & my husband had like one arm length of space between us and less so between our neighbors. And that a little weird when it’s a tapas place and people order multiple plates. Like where are we putting the plates?? im sorry my lap is already full with my neighbor sitting on it. Everyone is so close to each other, you can’t hear a thing. Throw in some music in there so you can’t even hear your own thoughts. Wanna put your bag somewhere? LOL that’s a luxury you shant afford at Leos. Our server was a sweetie and I know he did his best. The servers were working REALLY hard!
I would highly recommend somewhere else if you want equally good food (or sometimes better) and drinks without the obnoxious vague wait times as you watch others get seated before you….or if you wanna have a conversation while you eat. Or perhaps you can just forego your craving for thai fusion tapas and succumb to the sweet siren songs of Tune Up and their 8 billion specials just around the corner because you live in Santa Fe lol.
Anyway good luck, Leo’s.

We enjoyed a great meal at Leo’s after hearing multiple recommendations to try. We showed up not long after opening but without a reservation, so the first turn of tables had already been sat. We were invited to hang out on the heated back patio and both the host and the bar servers were great about letting us know what to expect for wait times. We thought the drink menu was unique, with some familiar classic cocktails re-crafted with a Leo’s twist. We were also impressed with the food once we were sat at a communal table. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, and did a great job rotating the shared plates so we never ran out of room despite the close quarters. Personal favorites included the Pork Belly Bar Steak, Collard Greens, and Fried Chicken. 4/5 stars for atmosphere, only because the communal tables made it hard to avoid overhearing everyone else’s conversations around us. But it’s a beautiful space, and you can tell a lot of intention went into it. If you don’t mind dim lighting, making new acquaintances at a shared table, and a potentially long wait time, you’ll really enjoy trying this spot.

My partner and I had dinner here and it was wonderful. Loved the atmosphere and the music and the energy. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great. Yes, you cannot make reservations and should arrive before it opens. That’s similar to a few places in Santa Fe and it would be much better if you could book a reservation. We only had to wait 20 minutes. I love the vibe here. Santa Fe really could use more restaurants with this level of energy and professional service. Cool vibes without the too-cool-for-you attitude which I cannot stand. The staff looked happy to be there and it was a welcome experience in The City Different. Please keep it up!
