Hands down worst Waffle House experience I’ve ever had. From the moment we walked In there was no “hello “ or “welcome to Waffle House” all of the employees didn’t even look up. Then we waited about 7 minutes while there were three dirty tables that nobody was taking care of they were just sitting around talking to each other and customers. And as soon as the manager comes out of the back they get up to start cleaning tables, one employee told the manager to not touch her table and she could do it herself when it was sitting there idle before we even walked in. And then when we got to sit down, the waitress didn’t even clean the table that well, didn’t hand us a menu, walked away and came back after a minute or two asked us what we wanted to drink , walked away again. When she brought the drinks she mixed up the drinks even though it was only 3 seconds prior we both gave her our orders (she wasn’t super busy or serving others at that time she just didn’t care to listen) when she finally took our order she rushed us through the order and we had to tell her on two different occasions additional information because she rushed us through. She mixed up the orders again when she brought the food to our table, and she didn’t even set it down she held the plates above us so we had to grab it ourselves. We asked for hot sauce and she gave us a pretty much empty & nasty Tabasco container. Not to mention she repeated that we wanted wheat toast and continued to bring us white. After I got halfway through my drink I realized the inside of the cup was disgusting with white stuff all around the sides (kinda looks like worms). Then she didn’t check on us one time, immediately brought the bill and walked away. Then she left me standing at the counter to pay for like 5 minutes when she was so eager to rush the bill to us. Not to mention my fiance requested a Togo plate while she was waiting for me to pay the bill and instead of bringing it to the table so she could quickly pack that up then let me pay she just brought the container to me. I guess she was just very eager to get her money. Basically the whole time , no have a nice day, no smiles, no friendliness… we were more polite to her than she was to us. I wanted to pull the manager outside to talk to him directly but as we were leaving it got very busy and I honestly didn’t want a bunch of “yes man” answers so I decided to just leave an honest review. I know that waffle houses standards are much higher than this, I know that they want to hire people to progress up the corporation ladder and be held to a higher standard but the employees at this Waffle House were very much below that standard.

Came in on 12/26 to eat. Staff was very rude to us. One of the waitresses was ease dropping on our conversation about them having cold and flu medicine and cough drops WHERE they cook our food. I’m 36 weeks pregnant so when she came up to us with a nasty attitude I just informed her that we weren’t trying to get sick. She then stormed off mumbling things and told us we can get another waitress when she comes out of the bathroom. We were just like okay and waited. Waitress comes out of bathroom and the other one continues for 10 minutes to run her mouth about how she’s not sick and if she was sick the other lady would have it blah blah blah. We never said SHE was sick, we just informed her of the cold and flu medicine on the prep area. We ended up leaving because we just sat there and waited on our drinks and for 10 minutes straight this lady was STILL being very loud and going off. Not once did we ever get nasty with her, cuss at her or call her names. We just simply said when she was ease dropping on our conversation that we didn’t want to get sick bc we saw cold and flu meds plus cough drops.

Be careful using the delivery option at this location, bc they will not accommodate. I spent $38 using waffle house.com delivery this morning, not including the driver tip of $7, which brought to a grand total of
45.00 for one single enteree. I spent about $13 in gratuity to the restaurant itself and delivery charges, which is expected. (In person this same meal usually costs around 18.00) This morning 11/10 at around 6 am, whichever woman and man was working that shift was very rude and unaccommodating. This location was out of the Delmonico steak. That was no problem to me, things run out. I spoke with the rude waffle house server on the phone asking could she just do the T bone instead. She said it was a two dollar difference. I never once asked for anything for free. The entire phone call I was offering to pay the two dollars. I was like okay can I pay that over the phone, even though I’ve already paid 38.00, I have no problem paying the two extra dollars. She immediately got nasty and told me all the things she could not do. I’m not sure why I was met with immediate hostility, as I had a pleasant tone, and I had to literally remind her to be respectful, as I was not yelling, nor asking for anything for free. The only thing I kept saying was how can I pay it.

I thought it was unprofessional, to tell me that I need to drive down there (after spending 13.00 in delivery fees) and pay the two dollars. Really, two dollars? She kept saying ” We can’t upgrade you, you would have to come here and pay the two dollars” I thought was quite absurd, and honestly , what is two dollars, you guys were out, and I ordered directly from WaffleHouse.com, not a third party app, so in this instance she honestly could have just given me the T-bone, but she had a point to prove, as if I was asking for something grand. Back in March, my card would not swipe at this exact location. The server pressed a button, that allowed me to manually type my card number in so I could pay. She and the man kept saying You can’t pay over the phone, you need to come up here. The driver mentioned that she was experiencing a financial hardship, and in the end the driver paid the two dollars. And let’s be honest, what button in your POS system is two flat dollars? That money was simply put in the drawer or pocketed. My point is that was petty. Now if we were talking a 5,10 dollar difference, then that’s understandable.

I can’t believe she told me I need to drive down there myself and pay the two dollars. I have been to this location many times. You can’t tell me a server hasn’t waived a cup of coffee or a drink for a customer before, I’ve seen it with my own eyes. The driver brought the food straight to me. I ordered the steak medium. It was hard, over cooked, and rubbery, and the food was ice cold. This isn’t the first time I’ve had delivery issues with this location and food being ice cold. My last order it took the system three hours to find a driver. The food was clearly made as soon as they received the order, at 3am, but you handed the driver that 3 hour old food at 6:45am. Again, that order costed me 45.00, I didn’t write a bad review nor call in for a refund. I just rewarmed the old food and went about my day.

I hope someone reaches out to me. Between September and October, I’ve spent 185.96 with you all only on SIX single entrée orders. Please do better with the deliveries, professionalism, and basic problem solving skills.

I had the worst experience at the Amite City Louisiana Waffle House due to an individuals conduct that was very rude and disrespectful. First she started chewing the cook out for coming in late. His response was that he had to take / drop his children off at school and he stated to this hateful female that his children come first. Which I wholeheartedly agree with him / the cook.
Then she started in on me… Asking me very condescending questions. And when I answered her about the biscuits and gravy I ordered… She told me “don’t go there” which was way out of line and very uncalled for. All I did was answered her question. And then she proceeded to curse me out. Her goal was to intimidate me. What she did was embarrass the Hell out of me.
My order was to go and I had paid before my order was ready. So I asked for my purchase / transaction to be put back on my debit card and left.
This experience was very uncalled for and very unprofessional.
I wouldn’t recommend anybody in there right mind to step foot into that Waffle House in Amite City Louisiana.

I will be going to Corporate / HR with this nonsense.

Came in sat down, made eye contact with the three employees working the place. Sat there 5 minutes with no service while they talked about how many degrees and certifications the woman Waffle House employee had. I’m hungry. Moved on. I’ll never make that mistake again

Food was great, place looked decent, BUT….how can they charge me $1.70 service charge & $1.70 ToGo fee when i went to the place, ordered food, paid & gave the lady a $2 cash tip, and left. Its $3.40 under “other” at bottom of receipt by the taxes. I paid them to go get food. Is this even legal? Ill never eat there again.
