Amazing lunch at La Fignette. The flampees are worth the wait for the table!
When we arrived around 12.30pm on a December Friday there was quite a long queue. But the staff were very efficient at regulating it and it was moving fast. I think we had to wait about 15 minutes for the table for two.
The atmosphere inside the restaurant was very cosy and fun.
The food was good. We really enjoyed the Munster Tarte Flampee and the traditional dish of different meats and sausages with sauerkraut.
The weissbeer was great too. Very fresh and cold.

Came at opening on Tuesday. There was a small line waiting to get seated already, but it moved by very quickly.

We shared the fondue as 4 people and it was a great appetizer. The potatoes on their own was already really good, but sooooo much better dipped into cheese.

Their Wood-fired tartes flambées are also very very good. We shared 1/2 Mushroom & gratin and 1/2 escargots.

They were the perfect super thin thickness and the escargot has a nice garlic flavour.

A highly popular local restaurant that fills up quickly — the “Fully Booked” board is put out early during dinner service. Reservations are strongly recommended, and they only accept bookings by phone.

Although we had a reservation and arrived 20 minutes early, we were told we still had to wait until our original booking time. That said, the wait was absolutely worth it.

We ordered a half portion of Flammkuchen as an appetizer, followed by Chicken Cordon Bleu and the daily special, braised lamb shank, for our mains. Everything was delicious and very satisfying.

By the time we left, there was already a long line forming outside. Once again, reservations — and punctuality — are essential.

We tried La Fignette the first night we arrived in Strasbourg. There was a small lineup at 5:40pm, and we waited 10 minutes for a table (with no reservations). We were seated upstairs, the seating was quite tight and it was packed solid. My husband is from France (we live in Canada) and knows what’s good to eat. We had beef bourguignon, tarte flambé and the assorted sausages with sauerkraut and potatoes. Service was great despite such a full house, food was excellent. Given the portion and the quality of the food, it was surprisingly affordable.

When we left, which was around 7:30pm, the lineup to get a table went all the way out to the street, and every night the lineup was long, visible from afar!

The only cons is that the seating is very tight, and the noise level is high, making it hard to talk. However, that is the typical setting in France, we found it to be even more cramped in Paris.

Great restaurant with great service, highly recommend if you are in Strasbourg.

I recently visited La Fignette in Strasbourg and enjoyed wonderful Alsatian cuisine. Started with classic flammekueche , crispy and delicious. The wädele (pickled pork knuckle) was my main, and the portion was huge! Tender, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Also tasted the chicken cordon bleu with smoked ham and Munster cheese, which was great.

Special mention to the fignette potatoes – absolutely amazing! Ended with apple strudel for dessert. Generous portions and authentic flavors throughout. Highly recommended!

Review for La Fignette – Strasbourg

The restaurant has a great reputation and one of its best advantages is the continuous service until 11 p.m., which is perfect in such a touristic city. However, my experience didn’t fully match the high rating.

We waited in line for almost 40 minutes, and the person managing the entrance showed little empathy. I noticed that he allowed some guests who spoke his language to skip the line, greeting them warmly and letting them in ahead of others who had been waiting for a long time.

Once seated, the dishes were nothing special, and we had to wait around 30 minutes more for the main courses to arrive. Overall, I think the 4.6 rating is a bit overrated for the quality and service offered.

It is a charming Alsatian bistro. The space is notably cramped plus the popularity means a wait of an hour or more is common during peak times ( book in advance if you want to avoid the wait). The food is delicious, traditional and excellent value for your buck. Service is A+.

Authentic atmosphere. Gewürztraminer (white sweet wine) is a must, it is so delicate and great. We had multiple foods, but apple flambées was the best – worth try it if you haven’t tried. It seems like the line forms up later time, so either go there earlier or get a reservation.

Definitely recommended! We planned to have dinner here, but when we tried to reserve a table, it was written that they weren’t accepting reservations on that day. So we came a bit earlier than we planned to and there was already a short line. After only about 20 minutes, the line has become longer. The waiter seeing the long line gave each of us a small glass of wine and a piece of tarte flampee to warm up our body so we won’t freeze in a temperature of -6°C.

Inside, the vibes were so vibrant and cozy. The waiter chose the perfect table for us so we could be comfortable with our baby without disturbing other guests.

The food and drink were also wonderful. We had boeuf pinot noir bourguignon, tarte flampee champignon, and tarte flampee escargot. It was just right to fill our hungry stomach and warm our cold body.

Overall, a memorable experience to end our day trip in Strasbourg!

The waitress are friendly and very detail in explaining to us what we order and asked if there are ingredient that we do not eat . Pairing of wine is a plus as first time trying out Alsace food , we ordered a few dishes to share and we enjoyed our food very much

Flammekueche , Baeckeoffe , cordon Bleu Munster , and there is a fish dish .
Everything turn out well . Hope you visit this place if visiting strabourg again .
