I visited tonight expecting a mediocre vegan option at the Southern Market food hall. Boy was I happily mistaken! We ordered both the muhammara hummus and the stuffed grape leaves, and both were the best we’ve ever had! The hummus was velvety smooth and indulgently creamy, and the grape leaves perfectly balanced in texture and flavor. I can’t believe I’m saying this about such “simple” dishes, but I have a feeling I’m gonna be thinking about this unexpectedly lovely meal for a very long time.

Great spot to get a good healthy meal for lunch. I ordered the chicken shawarma bowl (flavored chicken over a bed of hummus) with pita bread with a generous vegetable garnish and a side stuffed grape leaves. $20 with tip.

This is a HALAL place. It serves Syrian Food. We were looking for a local HALAL place to eat in Lancaster and Google search suggested this place. It’s located inside of the Southern Market. We ordered Spicy Hummus Bowl with vegetables, Layali El Sham Gyro with salad, and Tamarind Sparkler drink.
Everything tasted amazing. The ingredients were very fresh, and all flavors were perfect! Gyro was juicy, but nothing was dripping either.
Hummus bowl… I didn’t expect it to love that much. We finished everything right away.
We don’t live nearby, but when we are in the area and have time, we will stop by.

I visited this booth at the Southern Market. I haven’t had hummus this light and delicious since my favorite place in New York closed. It was whipped and flavorful with a light oil on top. Loved it

I’ve been here twice now to eat Arabic food and both occasions were nice. The food came out fast and tasted good. The fact that it’s in the Lancaster Southern Market makes it better because of the live atmosphere. Also the guy at the register does a great job describing the food on the menus and what goes on each plate.

The chicken shawarma was delicious, but the real star of the show was the fresh Syrian style hummus. Overall the food was very fresh and this place is great. Will be returning.

Flavorful shawarma. Ton of great varieties to pick from. They are in open restaurant concept so many different restaurants are serving food and use common seating area. But they have good mechanism to alert you when food is ready. Service was fast and kind. They gave extra white sauce on request. Thanks for amazing Syrian food.

The food is great here! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Since we didn’t know what to order (we are not very familiar with Middle Eastern cuisine) we went with the staff’s recommendation. It was delicious!! We will visit again soon.

This place is halal! We only tried the arabian coffee and bakhalava. Both were very good and tasty. I would definately be back to try their food as well.
