The wait was 45 minutes long and once the food was brought to the table it was cold. We drove from New Iberia thinking that we would have a good dining experience but that wasn’t the case. The waitress kept apologizing and then said we should come to her house and eat because she can cook way better. The fried potatoes were extremely salty and the fried oysters tasted like they were going bad. I didn’t want to believe the 3.9 rating review but that is generous considering the poor quality of the food there!!!!!

2 stars only because of the owner. Had it not been for him I would leave -5 stars. My low rating would be due to the some of the staff there, especially one in particular. The waitress with the dreadlocks was HORRIBLE. I was part of a huge party but she continuously skipped over me, even people sitting with me was questioning as to why she continuously kept treating me like I was chopped liver. Mind you I’m a grown woman but she was acting as if I was someone from her school who treated her bad. The kitchen staff and wait staff got into a huge argument in the kitchen. Doors were slammed repeatedly and orders were screwed up. The same waitress with the dreadlocks came out of the kitchen laughing at the fact that another waitress had allegedly walked off the job. That was not any of our business what transpired behind those kitchen doors. She was very unprofessional the whole visit. At times she gave smart remarks and kept accusing the other waitress for everything. The food was very bland and not seasoned. I understand we were a huge party, but I definitely won’t return due to the attitudes from some of the wait staff but that one in particular really ruined my experience there. If I ever do go back and she’s there I will walk out and go somewhere else.

I was skeptical due to some negative reviews but have got to tell EVERYONE. TRY IT FOR YOURSELF! Feels like a traditional Cajun restaurant with a modern twist. Service was good and friendly. My wife had the seafood platter and I the hamburger steak. Both were great. Portion size was great. No complaints. If you want good Cajun food in a nice Cajun restaurant, go to Boutin’s in Carencro.

Best part was the Oysters Rockefeller. Rest of the food was sub par. Hardly anyone in the place when we arrived on Tues. one hour before closing. Service was terrible. I had to go to the bar to ask about our drinks the waitress placed 15 minutes earlier. And 30 minutes later, I had to barge into the kitchen to ask about our food. Our waitress seemed to disappear. Food was overpriced. If Boutin’s wants to stay in business, I Highly suggest having staff readily available and eager to assist and wait on customers. Be attentive to your guests and speed up the service and food taste/quality. Your Entree prices should also reflect market prices. There are too many competitive restaurants nearby that offer better food at lower prices. I’ll give it time before/if we decide to return.

It was my husband and I anniversary. We were 4 there for lunch. There were people coming in after us that were eating before us. It took over an hour to get our food. There were people staring and us like we didn’t belong there with the rolling of the eyes. The waitress came to tell us our food was soon to come. After still waiting we asked how much longer and she said oh they just started it. Then we put a tip on the table before leaving. It took a little while for us to pay and some were passing us up while acknowledging us. Then my daughter paid hers by card the lady never asked if she wanted to put a tip on it but added a tip on her bill. We didn’t feel welcome there.
