I went to Kahlo for dinner with my brother, his wife, and my little nephew. As soon as we walked in, I saw that the place was really beautiful. The restaurant has a warm Mexican vibe, and it feels inspired by the artistic legacy of Frida Kahlo, which makes the atmosphere very special.
From the start, the service was great. The staff were very friendly and paid attention to everything.
The food was delicious. The flavors were amazing and reminded me of when I visited Mexico. It’s real Mexican food, but with a modern touch that makes it look and taste even better.
My favorite cocktails were the Xoloti and the Granizo, especially because I like mezcal.
I totally recommend Kahlo 100%. It’s now in my top three Mexican restaurants in Manhattan, and I will definitely go back.

For some reason, being in lower manhattan, my expectations were low, thankfully, they exceeded expectations. My fiancé and I came here for Valentine’s Day, started with the Kahlo guac and chips, they were excellent, had a spicy margarita, awesome, and if I can recommend, have it with the good tequila, I had it with a Reposado from Forteleza. My fiancé had the sea bass, which she thoroughly enjoyed, I had the lamb chops, with a side of rice, amazing. Overall, might be a little pricey, but I invite you to just let go and splurge a little, well worth it.

Khalo is a modern take on a Mexican restaurant, leaning more toward Mexican-American fusion, and overall it’s a great spot. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent from start to finish. The décor is stylish and trendy, and the music gives the place more of a club vibe than a traditional Mexican restaurant, which actually adds to the experience depending on what you’re looking for.
While the menu doesn’t offer traditional tacos, what they do have is flavorful and well-prepared. The drinks are on the overpriced side, but that’s to be expected for the location. Parking is definitely a challenge—typical New York—but despite that, the restaurant is absolutely worth the visit.
I’d recommend checking it out if you’re in the mood for a fun, modern twist on Mexican cuisine.

Excellent experience at Kahlo NYC! I loved everything, the drinks were amazing, especially paired with the tuna tostadas, which were absolutely delicious. The staff was welcoming and attentive, and the atmosphere was vibrant and fun. I was visiting NYC and came across this place by chance, and I’m so glad I did. Truly an amazing spot — I can’t wait to come back!

I found this location on OpenTable and truly had no idea what to expect. The staff was extremely kind and knowledgeable about their menu. I have a really severe tree at allergy and I felt very safe eating here despite a lot of their items having nuts. This place truly exceeded any expectation I could’ve set. The appetizers were the highlight of our meal! The place itself feels intimate yet really inviting. Highly recommend taking the staff’s suggestions on food as we really didn’t know what to order and their suggestions certainly did not disappoint!

The atmosphere was great. The tortilla chips were some of the best I’ve had in the city. My sea bass was DELICIOUS, and Isabella was an excellent server. We were here for a birthday, and they made us feel very special, giving us a 4 top just for 2. I’d definitely come back!

This was my first visit after six years, we came in for the advertised $45 Restaurant week dinner, Friday and Saturday only… $60 other nights. I was disappointed that we were not offered the restaurant week menu and had to ask for it. It did not appear that the restaurant week menu was offered to other guests either, I guess I was the only one who knew about this advertised special. I think if you are going to offer a restaurant week menu, it should be provided to all guests and offered to everyone.
Having said that, we had a terrific meal and we enjoyed every dish very much. Our server, Andrea, was lovely and helpful. The portions were generous, and the cocktails were nicely crafted. The guacamole was delicious, and my pork entrée was also flavorful and perfectly cooked served with warm tortillas. My husband had the skirt steak, which was also flavorful and properly cooked.
The room is nicely done with exposed brick walls, and some hanging chandeliers, it is quite spacious, and you do not feel like you are sitting on top of other customers.
With the restaurant week special menu, I felt that the value proposition was there for sure. I would consider going back, but I need to evaluate the price points for the regular à la carte menu.

Just finished a second visit that was every bit as good as the first. Vibe-y ambience with well-executed modern Mexican fare. The filet mignon with truffle is a splurge but totally worth it!
