This place has the tastiest chile relleno tacos I have ever had! I’ve tried them a few different ways—topped with a fried egg, just onion and cilantro, or with lettuce and tomato—and every version is delicious. They cook your food right in front of you. Service is fast, the staff are super friendly, and the place is always clean. I really recommend checking them out.

Usually I don’t give 2 stars reviews ,but this place needs to spend a little more attention for costumers . I ordered a burrito dinner with a drink for almost $15.00, (Pricey) expecting to enjoy some real authentic Mexican food. However, I was very dissatisfied with what I got. The burrito was large size , meet was dry, with too much lettuce and not enough meat. The beans and rice were bland and boring. I have had much better food from food trucks, even on paper plates. I don’t believe the 5-star reviews are genuine. There is a much better Mexican restaurant across the street. I do not recommend Burrito Express.

This restaurant is one of my favorite dinner locations. They’ve went through some ups and downs like their casino problem that they recently took out about three months ago. They’re food has went through some downs but now it is getting better, would recommend.

Burrito Express in Fox Lake truly went above and beyond for us! We needed tacos last minute for our family practice in Antioch, and LoLo made it happen with no hesitation — even delivering them right to us exactly on time. The food was packed perfectly, arrived hot, and was absolutely delicious. Everyone loved it! On top of the incredible service, the prices were outstanding for everything we received. We’re so grateful and highly recommend Burrito Express to anyone looking for amazing food and exceptional service!

We were supposed to have a credit from the previous nightmare we called and spoke to the owner I do want to say he was very kind and understanding however previously they had messed up our order so bad that we got home and everything was wrong. So we decided to stop because we had a credit. The credit was 25.00 we got one fajita meal with extra meat and guac and chips I want to tell you this was 46.00 total. For 46 dollars it definitely was not worth it. There was hardly any meat and we ordered extra and was charged $8 extra for the meat we would normally share a fajita dinner between the two of us however this time and the last several times there is no way that it would feed two people keep in mind I eat one of the fajitas my husband eats the rest I generally eat the guac and chips their food is good but they are getting very cheap on their food and what they put into their dinners now. If they’re charging that much for it they should at least give it to you. I understand cutting back due to cost Etc but not when you pay for it! I told the owner the last time I would not do a review and I did not however this time it was just ridiculous. We love their food don’t get me wrong but you should at least get what you pay for and they should get your order right. The young girl was very nice obviously she had no control over how much meat went into the dinner to be honest there wasn’t very many vegetables either. Hope they start doing a better job and their prices are according because they definitely are not reflecting in the food they have great food

Absolutely delicious. Picked up a gordita and chips and salsa on my lunch break. Exceeded my expectations. Salsa was the right amount of spicy with a perfectly subtle smokey flavor. Gordita was so yummy. Planning to come back frequently!

My favorite Fox Lake Mexican takeout place! Occasionally I dine in. Always a good meal, reasonably priced, clean restaurant, friendly people! My latest favorites are the Steak Taco Salad and fish tacos. Also love shrimp tacos and steak quesadillas!
