LOVED IT! So delicious! I had a cheeseburger and slice of coconut pie. Hubby had hamburger steak, fried okra, french fries.
Must save room for pie!

Took a motorcycle trip out here with a group of friends. First time for all of us to visit the whistle stop Cafe and let me tell you an amazing stop and so glad we did. The food was delicious. The staff super friendly and the atmosphere was great! Definitely worth a stop anytime you’re nearby!

Wife and I had breakfast after doctors appointment EXCELLENT food. Great price and large portions. The girls are great also. If you’re traveling go where the locals go but go early. Very unique cafe with great customers also.

Really cool place from days gone by. Like stepping back into 1970s small town Texas/Oklahoma. Food was pretty good. Staff were fine, not overly friendly, but certainly not rude. It’s definitely worth a stop for the nostalgia. Lots of great looking pies that we didn’t get to try. Will visit again.

My husband & I, saw this place on Texas Country Reporter. We’re always looking for mom/pop coffee shops. We loved the old, historical building. The Cafe is located only 30 miss. from where we live. My Spanish omelet was “stuffed” with bacon & veggies. My wheat toast was cold, & hash browns were undercooked. My husband’s French toast, eggs, sausage we’re decent. Unfortunately, the service wasn’t as friendly as the Texas Country Reported stated. At 9 a.m. they were busy. But, not to busy to say good morning. After all it was Christmas time. We expected to find a much friendlier atmosphere. The waitress was moving so fast, when she served us, our coffee before my husband could ask for creamer, she’d already turned her back & walked away. Cute place but we won’t return.

Nice little restaurant that caters to locals and tourists. The food is good. The place is part of the historic Texas Turist Camp Complex covered with petrified wood.

Sit yer caboose at the Whistle Stop for some good groceries in a classic throw-back, but not kitschy restaurant.
Homemade pies are always a good start, the lunch specials have generous portions, and the menu items are tasty as well.
Not a bunch of tables and popular with the locals so can get filled up at noon which slows the kitchen some, but the food is fresh and hot, the locals friendly and the service hustles.
Then check out the station next door made entirely of petrified wood!

I have to share my new favorite spot in Decatur, Texas! Hands down, they have the best chicken salad I’ve ever had—my coworker got me hooked, and I’ve been coming back ever since.
But honestly, the staff is what makes this place truly special. I’m still new to Decatur and have only been in a couple of times, but the sweet ladies already knew who I was on the second visit! It wasn’t just good customer service; they are the absolute sweetest and treat you like a long time visitor.
Thank you so much to the wonderful staff for making me feel so welcome. You’ve definitely earned a loyal customer!”
