But looking forward to going back and trying the salads, I loved the concept!
When we arrived, the staff said hello but were otherwise disengaged. We had some questions as I have allergies and my in-laws do not speak English. The young adults working were clearly annoyed by our questions and continually had to pull their supervisor to ask (they were unfortunately lacking the essential training and did not have much product knowledge, if any). This is not due to being new, as this was the case with every employee except the supervisor answering their questions.
While making our food, they kept mixing up our bowls (which was frustrating enough if we didn’t have food allergies). They were jumping around each other on the line, mixing things up and getting disorganized with orders. At the cash, they had punched in half the order, mixed up the bowls and had to figure out which bowls were for which customers and then charge us. The cashier that punched in our order jumped on the line and left the supervisor to cash us out, who then needed to reverify the order and ensure he charged us properly. It was a disaster.
We ordered 4 items and drinks. For New York, pricing was good.
The Steak chopped- had to remove cheese and substitute sauce due to allergy. Steak was over cooked and had been sitting for some time. Otherwise, it was a salad and the ingredients were fresh.
BBQ Chicken salad – was extremely flavourful but spicy. Ingredients were fresh.
Crispy Chicken bowl – was very spicy due to the dressing. Could not eat it due to the spice level and Mom got a different item.
Little Harvest – the sweet potatoes were the best and tasted good. The chicken was okay but not great, and missing flavour. The apple was browning but fresh so were crisp and yummy.
I would recommend this restaurant for a quick salad or meal, but you’re paying for what you’re getting- wholesome ingredients at restaurant mark up.
However I would NOT recommend this location as the staff is disengaged, disorganized, untrained and lacking the essentials to provide a good customer experience.
I have run restaurants and have NEVER had a team that was less collaborative and synchronized than the team at this location.
Recommend the roasted tofu, kale, and wild rice…maybe the raw beets is not my taste.
