Have been Twice, and we absolutely love this cafe!amazing food! Another plus side, the workers look so happy and are so kind, not a long wait time on food and great portions I mean I have never seen a haddock burger as big as the one we were served always leave like we just had a thanksgiving feast that warm full and cozy type of feeling I had the avocado bacon/cheddar chicken burger very good HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE CLAM CHOWDAH BEST I HAVE EVER HAD!

We have been coming to the Freeport Cafe for years. The food has always been delicious and fresh, but mostly importantly the service and staff have always been top notch and a big part of what has kept us coming back. Over the past couple of weeks we have noticed a couple of pricing changes that raised our eyebrows, and we learned that the Cafe has new owners and management. The staff was friendly and professional as usual but the new manager was unfriendly and rude to us and we didn’t like how they seemed to be treating the wait staff. As much as we will miss Heather’s amazing hollandaise sauce, sausage gravy and biscuits, and the best clam chowder ever – I don’t think we will be coming back.

We were vacationing in Freeport and found this place. It’s a really nice breakfast and lunch place. We liked it so much we decided to go again as we were leaving to go back home. The staff was wonderful and the food was fantastic. I had the sausage gravy and biscuits the first time with fresh homemade biscuits. The next time I had an omelette.

We stayed at the Best Western Hotel overnight and arrived around 9am on a Friday morning for breakfast. There was about 5 families queued ahead of us. The staff worked like a well oiled machine to seat the hungry customers. Portions were massive and well worth the 10-15$ per plate. I ordered the Freeport breakfast this was on the smaller side and I still struggled to eat everything). Pumpkin spice coffee was amazing, and the sourdough toast was top notch. The staff were friendly and very welcoming. This establishment deserves more than 5 stars. Excellent breakfast. Can’t wait to come back

Unbelievable! We are staying locally and looking for a real diner experience and a good breakfast on a Saturday morning. This place did not disappoint, everything was excellent, the bacon, the ham, the potatoes, the bread, the service, etc! We waited, but it was worth every waiting minute. Wish I could say we would be back, but we probably won’t because we’re from Florida. So great to experience this up here in Maine. Thank you!! ❤️✌

I always look for “little, mom and pop place” to eat wherever I go and this place fit the bill perfectly! This December morning threw them for a loop with a temperature of -5° when they opened at 7am and froze their water. So no coffee or hot chocolate for a few minutes until they got the problem resolved. But their grill was going and they took care of the 5 tables that were already filled up on a frigid Tuesday morning. I got what has to be, easily the best ham egg and cheese sandwich I’ve ever had! Great food and great service!

If I had a dollar for every time I’ve driven past Freeport Cafe… well, you get the idea.

My husband had been on my case about trying it for breakfast, and I finally gave in. Turns out, this place is way better than I expected. I had it in my head that it was some kind of tourist trap because of the location, but nope. It actually gives off super local vibes, and the food was REALLY good.

I think this might be in my top three for best food-to-price ratio in the greater Portland area (does Freeport even count as that?). My “dish” was $11.99 and came with two eggs, two sausage links, two hash browns, and a homemade biscuit. The only thing I didn’t get two of was the biscuit, but it was huge, so I was actually relieved about that. I left stuffed. More importantly, everything was really yummy! The hash browns were crispy but not greasy, the eggs were cooked perfectly sunny-side up, and that homemade biscuit… I could’ve taken another one to-go. Make sure you ask for it grilled; you’ll thank me later. My husband got the biscuits and gravy and his food was just as good. Also, they have dozens of mimosa flavors. I had the pineapple mimosa and it was phenomenal.

Service was great, too. Our server was friendly and super attentive. The vibe inside reminded us of some of our favorite diners in Massachusetts; no frills, nothing fancy, just a classic diner feel. Exactly why we loved it.

Love finding a cute cafe with friendly staff and amazing food! Very comfortable dining alone in this cafe. Breakfast was amazing and a great portion size. If I hadn’t been going shopping for the day I would’ve had another meal. Also noticed while dining there seemed to be a lot of “regulars”. So nice to see the interactions between staff and customers. Definitely will be going back next time I’m down this way!

We had the most wonderful experience and waiter, Sam, when cousins met for the first time in over 50 years! He understood our joy and excitement and insisted that we not rush. The breakfast we had was delicious! I hadn’t had biscuits and gravy here in Maine that rivaled Lenny’s in Tampa Bay until I came to Freeport Cafe! My cousins loved their meals as well…..but, it was because of Sam that we had the memorable experience that we did!

10/10 every time. Friendly staff, fast service. Even if there’s a short wait, I’m seated, served, and satisfied in less than an hour. Top tier breakfast and lunch, warm welcoming environment.
