Went here for dinner the other night. We were seated at a booth. I believe Derek was out server, he was incredibly friendly and professional. We decided to get a few appetizers along with two entrees, and two desserts. The food came out quickly and was delicious. Highly recommend the jerk wings and Patty. The drinks were also good. Will definitely be going back and highly recommend if you’re in the neighborhood and looking to for some good Caribbean food.

Fairly good food, incredibly poor service, and decent ambience combine to make this a middling and dissatisfying experience.

We waited about 20 mins before we even interacted with a server, a total of 40 mins before we got our drinks, and an hour+ before we got our first bites. We were there for 2+ hours, for what should have been a much shorter meal, including waiting 20 mins to pay our check. And the small restaurant was not close to full, they were just terribly disorganized in terms of service.

It’s sad because the jerk wings and the beef pie were some of the best versions of those dishes I have ever had. But the oxtail main plate was good but not great, and the chicken curry omnivore dish was pretty bland and unremarkable. So the food started great and went downhill.

Cocktails were clever in design but shoddy in preparation, overly sweet and amateurishly mixed.

This place can be great, but it’s far from it at the moment. Can’t recommend it. Lydia’s on H was far better, even if it suffered from similar service and pacing issues.

Try the trini beef pie and the sorrel . The portion size for the oxtail rice bowl was a little ridiculous (not in a good way). That may have been the lunch size. The amount of oxtail I received was expected because we all know the price of oxtail ….. but the sides (rice/ vegetables) were a small size as well which I didn’t like.

THIS restaurant was REALLY good! I ordered takeout; I wanted to try oxtails fir the first time. I doubled down on the jerk wings–just in case. I had the fried plantain and the white rice. I wanted some sorrel, but the host explained they didn’t have beverage containers! I explained that I was from out if town, and he smiled and said “I’ll make it happen.” And he did! The ambiance was really nice; I wish I could have stayed to eat. The food was REALLY good! Both the oxtail and the chicken were tender, well seasoned, and enjoyable. The sorrel was REALLY good, and the plantain were JUST right! This restaurant is suitable for a date night, families, or individuals–like me! I’d come here, again.

The food here is amazing! I came here for the doubles. Had doubles in carribeans and have been craving for them. These are good, wouldn’t say as good as the ones I had in OG place. But still very good. Other than doubles, got trini meat pie, oxtail bowl, jerk wings, and sweet plantains. Everything was so good. Trini meat pie was crispy, filled with meat and herbs, and packed with flavor. The oxtail bowl was tender and sweet. Jerk wings were too spicy for me…but my friend loved them. Sweet plantains were yum, can’t ever go wrong with them.
